I am looking for a chrome snorkel style air breather cover for my 1983 R-Model Mack log truck and can't find one anywhere....anyone know where I can get one? Mack shop only has painted ones...no chrome!
Has anyone had a problem with there truck just shutting down while driving or sitting still with no just cause? Sometimes it will restart itself, but most of the time I have to start it with the key.
I have a 2007 ctp 713 dump truck that will use 2 gallons of coolant a day, there is no sings of leaks, I have not had it pressure tested, but have checked the lines for cuts, bulges, ect. Not going into oil. I brought a piece of equipment to a local cat dealer and he said they had issues like that with their egr valves. Does mack use egrs? I called my mack dealer but conveniently they didn't get back to me because I was looking of info, not making an appointment. Any suggestions will be apprecia

Me, my dad, and my uncle went up to Chesterfield, MA to look at 'Mater, a 1964 B61SX. We got there about an hour before dark to check the truck out. It was quite cold. The dump body was up a little bit, sitting on 6x6" blocks and it was full of frozen mud and scrap metal. The tailgate was down and chained about level with the bed and it too had mud frozen on it. The ears on the driver's side of the body were bent, not allowing the tailgate to be brought up and pinned in place. The owners had it
G'day to all I have a B61 and recently while going to a old machine day I noticed he's the wrong bloody dog! He is a modern smooth ear for pulling the bonnet (hood) over to get at the engine. Would one of you fine ladies or gentleman have a picture of the correct dog mascot for a B61 1961 model? 2006 CHN with 360/385 , fan clutch wire connectors torn off & gone when fan belt went bye,bye. Have colored wires on fan clutch, BUT they connect to a maze of white 1"s. Now fan clutch never shuts off, fuel consumption is terrible & engine hardly ever reaches 180 degrees. NEED new connection hook-up & a wizard to tell me how to reconnect them. Has anyone used the Mack engine rebuild program for E7 engines? I have a 2001 Vision E7 with a busted roller tapped. How much does it cost to rebuild the engine with Mack's Remack program? Is it a smart way to go? What are the pros and cons, etc. Thanks
Loses its prime when sitting then hard to start . The truck will start and idle and rev up fine but put it on the road and it dies. It also doesn't want to build rpms unless going downhill. It will restart after it dies and idle and run under no load. Changed fuel filters twice. The fuel is probably two years old but looks and smells ok. Where do I go from here? Thanks Gents.
Hi need help mechanic is busting me , my entire air syst seems to be contaminated with brownish black type of dirtish oil and its cgging my hoses ruining my braks system and the tanks are all contaminated , do I need a new compressor or is a filter ? the mechanic cleaned the air tanks and they were full of this material , and the air systems is constantly getting clugged ... what coud it be I feel the mechanic is cleaning but not fixing my main problem help!1
I own a fleet and have had some bad luck with a couple of mack rb 1999 electrical wanted to know whats the truck model that least breaks down and takes a lot of hard rough work a strong car I can only buy around the 1994 -2000 range cause of my budget. Please help . I own a DM is done pretty good just would like some suggestions buying a new fleet soon. also is it normal for trucks to be breaking constantly or a good trucks should be a ble to take a beating before it eventually needs fixes?? Need some help! My ch 600 1994 is running in 5 cylinders and pumpimg black smoke.litle power. I replaced the inyector number 6 after identifying that one was running bad,No improvements.So I changed the delivery valve of injector number 6. still no improvement. I tried using the new inyector number 6 on number 4 and is ok but back to 6 it does not work. Calling around they tell me ,why dont you check the compresion ,may is the the valve on piston number 6.Others think may be is the fuel inyectio
I had ask for help in a earlier post, locating a Spicer 5831A gear box. I have had a lot of response helping me locate one and others have given suggestion on the installation. I would like to Thank everyone for that. But It has been pointed out to me by several, that the 5831 may be a little small going behind a old 300 Mack engine, and that a 8000 series Spicer would be closer in line with the torque. I run a 96 rd log truck 350 e7 with jacobson engine brake, I hav never had a mechanical mack with jakes. we have 8 macks in our fleet and the only 2 that have jakes are the cl with cummins isx (junk engine) and the 04 granite with e7 427, the granite works awesome even with 800k on original engine, whats up with the mechanical e7 jakes?? useless!!!!! my question is, can u put jakes from an etech e7 on an older mechanical e7, if so is there any mods or has enyone done it. I haul over 90 k evry
2000 rd688s triaxle dump, change rear diff oil still running very hot. Any reasons? Me and brother new at dump business. Already spent more than thought we would of start up money. Now between rain and breakdown I'm getting very concerned if we will make it. So any info will surely help. Thanks my brothers.
