Repair Two on Hub

After fully cleaning the hub I found a pair of cracks around a second bolt hole.

I was concerned about welding the casting, but it appears the material is cast steel, not cast iron. This hub was poorly cast - a lot of scabs and scars.

Did you preheat hub before welding it? Cast steel is a little more forgiving than cast iron!
