Bob were the E9's called Econodyne in the U.S. as well

They started as Maxidyne and Thermodyne in Australia and changed years later

As far as I know yes. Every brochure I've seen calls the E9s Econodynes but I wasn't even around for the E9's reign so Im not the one to ask.  

I only remember them as part of the econodyne series especially the 440 hp dont know of any maxidyne E9 but its possible the higher hpE9 was classified differently and then renault took over
