    • what years are you asking about..  mack transmissions that I deal with have a 1 piece front case with a Mack bolt pattern.  Eaton and Meritor transmissions require a Mack bell housing.  Mack's have the rear engine mounts on the bell housing.  with this said, I have never bothered to learn about SAE bell housings,  so I will follow this for my own education..  do you have a truck in mind?  Model and year??
    • Hello all I'm interested in twin stick transmissions. I've done a few searches but I'm not coming up with the info I'm after, thought I would ask you all to see if it's worth chasing this down further (or if its a non-starter). I'm not a Mack guy so pls forgive me if this is a dumb question.  In short, I'm interested in finding out if there's a Mack transmission that will work with an engine that requires an SAE 2 bell housing and has overdrive gears. Is there such an animal? Older units and/or twin sticks are fine (wouldn't mind that at all for my application). Thanks O.
    • I saw an ED pickup about 35 years ago. It had an L-Model cab. Has anyone ever seen one?
    • I’m selling a Mack SW80 cut off,  12:00-24 tires 1 has sidewall damage (my fault.)  Rims are good.  6.75 ratio cr95/96. 20" air wedge brakes with good shoes and drums. 9ft wide.   $7k These are tough to find.  Selling because I no longer have the truck they were going in.
    • Discs are a whole other size. I'm learning about this lately.  Just changed some on my T880, they're like 24/18s or something.  Really need to pay attention anymore. Mix'n anything is a fast way to no brakes.
    • My b 42 had 6.17 gears in it the owner before me put a 673 diesel in it 45 was top speed I found a different rear I think it was 4.56 somewhere around there 55 top speed then I switched out for a modern air ride I’m not sure of the gears in it but it will easily do 65 not even pushing it and all everything is more modern and available
    • GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESUS!!!!!!!!!just never know,,,,most folks showing up for a deal,,,,have got a good way of giving us doggy eyes.....then when its time to follow thru,,,,they disappear,,,,,that sucks,,,you already gave it away
    • Well, maybe the worst part is that I did the same thing 2 more times. We hit a deer with the Cutlass, smashed the left front fender. I couldn't find a fender, and couldn't afford to have it fixed at the time, so I bought a Mercury- was it a Monarch that looked just like a Ford Granada? It looked like a Granada, but it was a Mercury. So the Olds was still parked in the driveway, had been there for a while, and a man stopped by one day and wanted to buy it. Of course he didn't have the money, but he said he would make payments. My brother in law just happened to be there at the time, and he said he knew the guy, and he would be good for the money. That was the last I saw of him or the car, never got any money out of him. The last time was an '81 Buick Regal I had. I got it for my wife, who passed away in 2005 from cancer. I bought a 2001 Ford Focus because it was a little easier for her to drive and more comfortable for me to take her back and forth to Charlottesville to the U VA. hospital. My step daughter and her husband wanted to know if she would sell it to them. She said she would, and she would take $300 for it. I just just put 4 new tires on it. And I had just taken it to Don's Stereo in Lynchburg and had a new Jensen stereo system installed for her. Either of those, the tires or the stereo, was worth $300. And when I bought the car it had just been painted, the engine had been completely rebuilt, new pistons, the works. He had also rebuilt the transmission. I bought it from the head mechanic at H.H. Moore's. Had the V6 engine in it, and it ran great. My wife was already pretty sick at this time, but when she said $300 I thought "that's fine, I bought the car for you, and she's your daughter, so if you only want $300 I'm fine with it".  And same thing. They wanted to know if they could pay $50 a week, or maybe a month. They took the car and paid $50, and I never saw another dime. And of all of these this one still pisses me off the most. 😡

On that F Model that you sold:  was it equipped with an air-assist steering unit?  I am interested in trying to install one on my F Model.

      Thank you.
