  1. An early rotator-that is the hook can rotate😎 In any case this truck probably could handle most wrecks that today would require at least two rotators plus a ramp truck to pick up any loose parts..kinda of like a ladder truck going to a grass fire.
  2. You are asking a logical question which many ask. Mack spent a lot of money to design the new B Model with its "Aero look" and in so doing produced a cab that was less comfortable and with less visibility than the truck it was designed to replace. I've always felt it came down to marketing guys-even in the early fifties they did exist- who felt they had to offer something new. Ask me what was better about the B, let me think..................uh give me a few more days😎
  3. Given what you have been through, that grandson has to brighten your day!
  4. Okay Freightrain, somthing on BaT you might be able to upgrade. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964-ford-country-squire-91/
  5. My guess would have been International..with the 2000 series-I think around 63??
  6. I spelled it wrong-"Morooka" tracked dumper that can rotate 360 degrees. I think there are others too that swivel 90 degrees left or right.
  7. 🤙 Alwas nice to get a feel what other shows are like. We did around 450 trucks in two days. I wasn't crazy at first about two days but there is enough turnover from Sat to Sunday to see new trucks on second day.
  8. Sorry about that..but if he did train her, a great employee!
  9. Our annual show was this weekend, attached are pix of Blackdog2's latest acquisition RD 600 as well as his DM-600 that he has had for quite a while but he and his son Matt finally got around to repainting their fleet color of red/white. DM is a heavy tractor with 58 rears and 6speed. Other BM regulars there was Matt (Mattb73lt), and Rich (66DC75) . I thought Hippy (70MackMB0 was supposed to come but if he was there I did not run into him Matts B-73 was loaded down with the usual big Ford 8000 Tractor!
  10. I had same thought when news headline broke...This site is relatively new as a quarry compared to Perkins. Machine was a 374 Cat..A later news follow up a day or so ago, showed an excavator digging a hole not far from the edge of the break..no clue what that was about. Ask your dad if Heidi ran the scale house in his time.
  11. This morning at 8AM , while an excavator was working at the base of a vertical granite cut, a huge section above broke loose burying the cab and tracks so the only thing visible was the boom, dipper and bucket. Came down with such force the boom cylinders were sheared from the cab and the rods were bent. First responders used sound and I imagine some cameras to snake them through the mess to confirm a fatal. If you google "Quarry accident, Sterling Ma" you will probably see news aerials. Looks like the site had a bench cut above but at the point where the excavator was working it looks like the bench cut stopped at that point and the face was probably another 30-50 ft higher-complete guess. News reported machine was working within safe zone and I imagine operator was pulling broken rock out. Think about this guy and his family
  12. Great! Thx for response-as authentic as it can get😎 Zavitz was a NY outfit I think?? (as supported by NY TMT plate)
