  1. pretty smart guy on this Mack, reminded me of a trainng class. Wonder if he is on BMT
  2. check out Spectre http://www.spectreperformance.com/ I picked up some of there stuff for my truck, this is the link to the flex duct and couplers http://www.spectreperformance.com/index.php/catalog/air-intake-components/flexible-couplers-and-duct.html reasonably priced and seems to be good quality, I cant tell the diffrence between the K&N filter I have on my pickup or the one they have other than the style. I picked up everything I needed at o'riellys, the one near me seems to stock more off road and tractor stuff, I checked out advance and autozone but they did not have alot of 4" stuff.
  3. its a new one so that with out a core charge, if reman that want one back but they wont trade a MT42 for a MT39.
  4. should be able to get them relined at a local truck shop I would think, not sure where you are at but Keystone does it in portersville and pittsburg
  5. I was on a auction site this morning and found his truck for sale! http://www.purplewave.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?121218/E3571
  6. Spoke with delco this morning about what starters can be used with the B Model, here is what I found out. BTW all these starters also come in 24 Volt MT42 standard 12 Volt starter, 11 teeth, CW rotation part number 10461052 reman starter part number 1990483 new starter MT39 12 Volt starter, 11 teeth, CW rotation part number 8200308 which has a rotatable mount for indexing the starter and is the most common (15 sitting on the shelf at the Mack dealer) part number 8300017 is reman non rotatable starter part number 8200289 is new non rotatable starter recommendation from delco was to use the MT39 8200308 as it is popular and readily available from any delco distributor my two cents from this morning -There are numerous after market and reman starters available from ebay to the local autoparts dealer, most are all clones/knock offs or rebuilt/reman but not built by delco. Most are no name or willsons. I was quoted by the local parts stores for a reman 5-7 days and any where from $350-$450 plus shipping as its a special order on the MT39 by Willison. On the internet remans or no names are going for $250-$300 plus shipping, but they are not delcos but rebulds or no names. Talking with the local auto electric guy it would be $275 for the MT42 rebuilt or a MT39, in my opinion it would be worth spending the few extra bucks on a new delco. The local Mack had a new delco MT39 for around $350 with no core charge or shipping charges. http://www.delcoremy...t-Brochure.aspx http://catalog.remyi...Details/8200308
  7. i need to go by the one here, i am dreading it for two reasons so far away and the money i am going to spend

  9. that one was listed awhile ago, would be nice to have, just too far away for unless it could be driven back.
  10. mine is on the passenger side lower, when I took it off originally I turned it one postion so I could get at the the bolt between the oil pan and starter because it was difficult to get to. I took a harbor freight air file and a dremel to the banged up flywheel teeth and that seemed to help some with the engagement. is there suppose to be any shims???
  11. Hey all, I been jacking around with the starter got it ID as a MT42, it had abad bushing and I think the solinoid needs replaced as it is cracked and I think that is part of the reason for the kick out. Got the 5 dollar bushing installed bench tested and it worked fine, installed and started acting finunny and spinning, started dragging, put the booster charger on and still dragging obviously need more power, so I went and redid all the connections still did not work right would spin, kickin then out again, when I was at the starter shop they thought it was fine except for the nose cone bushing. Is the MT42 the right starter or is part of the problem is it is the wrong dimensiosn to engage properly??? I found the MT39 on line and locally but if all I need is asolinoid that would be aheck of alot cheaper, I just want to get the truck started so I can finish putting it back together. SPECIFICATION: VOLTS: 12 ROTATION: CW DEGREES: 52° NUMBER OF TEETH: 11 MODEL TYPE: DELCO 42MT APPLICATION: Medium & Heavy Duty Trucks & Industrial Equipment 1986-98.
  12. nice pics, looks like crappy driving weather, do they salt and sand the road or just sand?
  13. after reading the dodge truck review no wonder they never sold enough to keep making them, for over seven years they were advised of simple fixes that they ignored. Who would want a sleeper that had no insulation and no place to put your stuff, a step that scrapes your shin everytime you get in and a key switch that allows the air buzzer to sound no matter what postion it was in other than off, no way to listen to AM and 8 tracks at the truck stop with out hard wiring.
  14. some one should see if they bought new ones if the owner would trade the door handles, they would be awesome to have.
  15. who did the brake work the first time around and did they replace any brake chambers and slack adjusters? Have you caged that brake and see if the others are working?
  16. Mike any pics of the IH 1100 pick up? and how much is missing?
  17. Mike when you go get this one stop by on the way back and grab the superliner thats on there http://cgi.ebay.com/...=item2a262a0306
  18. easyist would be flat bed but make it into a cattle hauler or wooden box van. I also like the tractor idea. A oil/fuel tank looks good on that style of truck.
  19. not trying to highjack but I am in need of some starter info too, the guy I bought my truck from had put a 12 volt starter on it but he said he had some problems and it ended up being the starter gear and he said he changed it, when I got the truck it would catch and then kick out or just spin like it needed to be shimed. I took it loose and seen it was not pulled up tight so I fixed the bolts and it caught about 95% of the time the fist time. I then started the restoration and pulled the tanks, on Thursday I put working fuel tank on and primed the engine up and it would catch and kick right back out or bind up, I pulled the starter and checked it on the bench and it spun fine but the nose bushing is cracked so thats it appears the armature may be bent. The starter looks like it had the mounting adapter made so I amsure that it was someting that was out togeather and not purchused. Instead of jacking around with this one I have will the AC Delco starter mount up and what about the starter gear drive match in the fly wheel, I have a B61T with END engine. Also what is the number of teeth for the starter gear? Thanks for responses.
  20. Sorry, I see the link to my previous post wernt attached http://kansascity.cr...3328268791.html
  21. Slpwlker I found this truck trailer combo here in KC forsale, do you think that once they unload the Tractor that the trailer will spring back??? I thought that maybe the tractor was a little heavy for the trailer.
  22. stop by superdogs in Iowa and come through KC and drop off my small box of parts!!!
  23. theres one on ebay that missing the cab. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1980-Mack-DM685-Dump-Truck-Parts-/150945592071?pt=Commercial_Trucks&hash=item23250ef307
