  1. What happened to the other superliner? Still for sale or did the guy have to buy both?
  2. I have had so far so good luck welding cast using the nickle rod. I have wood burner made out of a 500 gallon propane pig. Start a fire in it and set the part on top after an hour or so digitemp it to the side of the burner if close start the welding process when done throw couple more sticks of wood in and call it a day on the welding. I use a needle scaler to peen it after welding. Low budget and low tech but effective.
  3. Looks like they melt the recycled lead down and mix it with new so essentially it is a new battery, with that being said maybe the reman battery's are the returns and exchanges and the they de-sulfate, charge and load test them and if they hold a certain amount of charge they re-sell them. There are somethings you should buy new I think battery's are one of those things. They are a pain to mess with because of the weight and size and in most cases where they stow. I have saved a battery before and charged it and thrown it on a shelf and used it months later but if it crapped out I wouldn't be surprised but the hope is it will get me out of the pinch that I used it for.
  4. Congratulations! Great job maybe this will lead to some real sponsorship, maybe Mack will make a commercial or movie and give you some sponsorship.
  5. Do you have a link?
  6. In that case I have some vin plates and NY registrations for sale if any one is interested when I get home I will post a picture let me know if they will work
  7. Make sure it matches the frame, here in the show me state, any out of state titled vehicle has to have the vin # verified, any vehicle must have a OD/ID check before filing for the new title. I took the Superliner to a Official State Inspection Station and received a letter in the mail after I submitted for title, that they wanted it re-verified by the Highway Patrol. When I called and asked the DMV why (since it was done at an Official site that they recommend) they said because they can and asked if I had any more questions I said yes can I get my $12 back that I had to pay and then silence and than a voice said "if you would like to make a call please hang up and try again" I was pissed and called back and was on hold for 30 + minutes again, finally got another technician and she explained it was because the VIN# was not long enough and there would be no additional fees and the Highway Patrol has to verify.
  8. Looks good. I also forgot to mention I like windjammer. I like the change in steering wheel option, that makes it easier for the full figured drivers to get in and out.
  9. You took the words right out of my mouth! Well done Mike! Mack, now get that on TV and help get the pride put back into trucking.
  10. I don't think that is the reason it is leaking probably just worn out and tired and needs resealed.
  11. The PAI are good quality I have put them on both the Superliner and that 1970 KW I had. The KW ones are identical except part# and color. BTW if you decide to get one from a dealer get from KW I paid $45 for set last January.
  12. Are you selling those power units to the Amish to power there furniture factories and sawmills?
  13. Looks like it was a good buy for sure
  14. On my superliner there is a toggle switch one side says heat the other A/C. On the newer ones that switch is incorporated into the controls, so it probably was for the toggle switch but has the newer control switch
  15. Check the ratios and see if they are the same or close with whats on the R than you are not messing around and swapping the axles (lots of work) or do like b61Mack said, strip the R rears and frame and slide the new CH frame and axles on and bolt her down. (that I think would be the easiest)
  16. Welcome. Once you figure out the forum; post all the pictures you like. Most of us can't read we just look at the pictures
  17. Buy the one piece gasket I replaced the one on my R when I painted it and I bought a new one for the superliner they are about $12 plus lock strip looks like a windshield gasket but one piece. The R showed some signs of wetness when I pulled the headliner the superliner on the other hand had the overhead console with about a pint of water in it the roof had a couple holes from antennas thst were rtv and also had a crack in one of the roof stamp lines looks like the cab had been dented and was left like that from a previous repair welded both sides and sealed with epoxy
  18. Just got a call back from my PAI parts guru said I need to buy the pack of ten but they are $1.90 each any one need some let me know I will have 6 spares.
  19. Local mack has them at just over $5 each pai brand from online venders has at $1.56 but $20 something for shipping still thinking about it may just use a carriage bolt or hex head with washer for $5 or less
  20. I am not sure my wife picked the color off a color swatch I can find out.
  21. In July I had a couple B30s up to 70 but had to slow down because I kept losing tires.
  22. I got these pictures this afternoon, maybe all the time I spent there lit a fire? Any one have the part number for the hood bolts that go through the fiberglass the carriage bolt looking ones?
  23. Update Went to check on the truck looks like they have done some work to it maybe by Christmas I will get it back. I haven't done anything more with the sleeper just been sitting in the way out in the shop. I don't dare bring it up there because it may slow the process down again. Really not sure why it is taking so long since there is no rust, just some minor holes and stress cracks in the sheet metal. There is a couple spots that were redone because previous repair work was not that great. You can see on the lower front of the door sills that at some point, both sides of the front cab mount supports were replaced. The repair is good, just poor finish work in those location with the welds. That was basically all the problems with the cab and also a crack on the drivers door around one of the mirror brackets holes. I am having him fill in the rocker panel seams along the bottom, at some point and the seams were filled full of weld. Looking at that repair job, was probably welded when they redid the cab mounts. Anyone looking for a Superliner 1 hood let me know. It has a couple cracks no fiberglass missing or cracked through, has some spiders but is overall real solid. When I bought the sleeper and I got a second hood for the trim. I dropped the second hood off in June thinking they would get it ready before I dropped the truck off, but no such luck.
  24. Are you no longer in the southern hemisphere? Bad time to come back ait it with winter setting in here and spring there
