On Saturday had our August meeting and checked out a couple of different collections. Enjoy and I will try and answer what ever questions that I can. The Model A collection is owned by Mr Weller and he will be 90 in September you would never know it though. In 37 years he has restored 29 cars and sold 4. I also have a picture of an aluminium lock ring tube type Alcoa wheel.

degreasing engine &frame
thomastractorsvc replied to 609albert's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I have had pretty good luck using dawn or the purple power. Tough grease and dirt gets a shot of brake clean and wire brush or putty knife, like ed said it will take a while. I have not had any problems with water infiltration but I don't try and spray it directly into the air breather or oil filler. The engine is pretty sealed up unless you are missing or removed something from it. If you use hot water it takes less detergent because it will help melt the grease loose vs blowing it off. I have a 2800 psi washer and do it on the concrete pad in front of the shop, I then pressure wash the debris into a row and clean it up and soap it down with dawn and let it dry so there is no oily residue. Also the soaps I mention are bio-degradable and safe, in fact they use dawn on oil spill clean up. -

thomastractorsvc replied to Bradranch's topic in Trucks for Sale
After the colorado mine spill done by the epa I thought there would be more outrage only saw it on fox very little on CNN so with poor media coverage I think it is doubtful there will be much done to change anything about coal- 16 replies

You should have no problems with the lead substitute and pure unleaded when you get ready to park it for the season maybe some sta-bill but if you plan on running it I wouldn't worry about it -
