  1. Business must be good near Hyde Park NY, all I saw $$$$$hooked$$$$$hooked$$$$$........etc.........
  2. I am holding off on installing any more interior until it's painted. I bought a shrinker and stretcher to redo the front opening need a little more practice then I will give it a try. I am trying to talk the wife into a bead roller and english wheel so she can work on her A54 model
  3. Update of a few things that got taken care of over the last couple weeks. Got the sleeper doors recovered, found some vents and some trim pieces they are about 1/2 inch smaller than the original. I think I installed about 200 rivets. Polished the new used bumper and had the hood bezel stripped of chrome since it is aluminum plan on polishing it see how it turns out. Noticed that the lettering was different size font on the numbers on one side the number 12 is about 4 inches and it is almost 7 on the other side. The name and dot numbers were about the same size. Checked out the truck yesterday maybe only 20% completed. School starts on Thursday so I am going to go hang like I did with the R when I had it painted.
  4. Planning on making any runs with it? I bet that it would haul a set of hubs to Kansas City!
  5. How much more do you got to go before you can drive her around?
  6. I have Haggerty Ins for my trucks and lowboy trailer. I can pull the trailer with what ever I want on it as long as it is not for hire and in support of the "hobby" i.e. truck shows and events or the repair shop. Can not pull a RV/camper trailer. In Missouri have to have a mileage log showing to and from and stop at the scales. On my first trip out of state (trip to Walcott Iowa) I got twenty questions from the scale officer basically asking me 20 different ways what I was doing and where I was going, trying to see if I was selling or hauling for profit. When I gave him the registration, insurance and Missouri vehicle log http://dor.mo.gov/forms/4012.pdf, he said okay and I was on my way. Years ago when I was stationed in the Military District of Washington, I drove a commercial semi truck for the US Army all over the US. We were exempt from all DOT stuff and I was told from the chain of command did not need to stop. After blowing by them for a few months with out any response I was down near the SC boarder on I95 and three troopers took after me in hot pursuit. I was pulling a leased trailer with commercial tags so they could not see the US Govt license plate. We did not wear uniforms so they started raising hell about not stopping and on and on and I gave one of them the military documents and my CDL and military ID and they changed there tune. They then asked if I could kindly still go through the scales from now on or mark the trailer and truck with US Govt. So unless I was being escorted when I was outside the DC area I started stopping and had a sign made that was stuck on the back of the the log book binder and would just hold that up. The trucks were never over weight and so I never got asked to pull over for inspection.
  7. Damn good price I bought some from Inland truck and gave $99 for 5 long and led.
  8. I have not torn into it yet I am hoping that with some new races and bearings I can fit the B hubs on or I guess I will becoming to see you Mike for the smaller hubs. The 22 make the truck really tall and Jackie likes the shorter stance. So far I think I have everything to get it running and I plan on a Chevy drive train ( 292 and a 4 or 5 speed) if the motors are shot. Thought about maybe using the engine from the F but I think it would be way to heavy on that little frame.
  9. I did some sanding on some of my stuff the polisher guy said go up to 800 to 1000 grit before using any polish/cutting compound. I only had 600 but it was really starting to shine and it took no time to finish polishing
  10. Great job Mike truck looks awesome
  11. Any one know the diffrence between the mack FA500 and the FA505? Reason asking the better of the two A model trucks hubs were missing and a set from a B were stuck on it 10.00x20 I want to keep the smaller tire if possible the parts truck has 12.00 x 22 hoping the hubs would be the same
  12. Looking Good, with all the extra trucks need to hire some more drivers!
  13. How is the foam dry rotted and crumbly? That would be my concern if the foam is dry rotted in a seat under the cover not sure it wouldn't be the same in a box
  14. That looks like pretty nice truck
  15. What knobs were you going to have them polish? Truck looks great!
  16. I just put some 7.25 on the rw got them at the truck stop Iowa 80 chrome shop they are online iowa80.com they were 5 bucks each I pushed them on to mark where they were catching and used a small ball peen on the top of the tire to flatten the lip a little I guess I could buy an install tool but for what they sell for I can dent a half dozen caps
  17. Anyone hear how much they are asking?
  18. its an old truck so listen for it when it is buzzing either under the dash or firewall. Should be off the primary side of the air line. Mine has/had three the one that was working was secured on the drivers side kick panel, if I remember right the one my 1980 r was under the dash.
  19. Did you keep anything from it?
  20. I appreciate the thoughts but I agree with Superdog drop a 0. I will go get and fix her up if someone wants to buy it either for themselves or posterity!
  21. What are you doing with the sleeper?
  22. I would check the buzzer first, more than likely it is a loose or corroded connection. When I got my RW last fall similar situation with buzzer, back up alarm and some lights, I took a small wire brush and some emery cloth and cleaned the terminals and replaced a few and replaced some wires. Before you go to far, probably a good idea to check all the important connections. The headlight switch terminal only had about 4 stands of wire still connected that may have caused a fire in the right situation or left me in the dark.
