Update 6/23/2015 Last week in the late evenings and Saturday I had the opportunity to do some more work. When I got the truck it would hop a little on the low side from 2 into 3 I figured new truck, home made cab air ride, seat was loose etc... any how while i was at the truck show last weekend I noticed that one of the torque rod bushings was loose and so I ended up doing some work to them. Also found time to turn the new hood in to the paint guy. I replaced the torque rod bushings, took off and redid the axle bump stops as one was cracked, replaced all the cab mounts and made it solid mount to match the sleeper, took off both battery boxes and air tanks cleaned and painted the brackets and replaced the rubber mounts. This afternoon we did a Family "work" Party and finished stripping the sleeper floor and lower panels.

I decided to get this and her sister also a B30. Not sure what I have for plans for them yet. The story goes all bought new and always stored inside and have been parked for at least 30 years. In the shipping and handling by the seller this truck was damaged. They thought the rear end was bad but last night I pulled the axles and it was stuck shoes to the drums. The motor is stuck and had no oil or coolant I stuck a inspection camera in the pan looks good so i decided to soak it for a while but it rolls around good now. When they took the bed off to scrap it the cab was damaged cab and she got her grill pushed in. They guy started to do some work but I think lost. The floor pan and fuel tanks were removed he had the carbs sent out and rebuilt(still in the box). He is still looking for all the parts and when he finds them I will go pick up the other one. It still has the dump bed on it.

Trucking Execs Urge Senators to Turn Down ‘Twin 33’ Trailers
thomastractorsvc replied to kscarbel2's topic in Trucking News
they are worried about the competition not anything else. Most of the same company's wanted to increase the insurance limit making it harder for the small fleet and owner operator so really are they looking out for anyone but themselves? -

My neighbor had a heating ac company that specializes in radiant floor make the plan and install so you would have to think it would be good with 4 inches of foam under the concrete and 2 on the side going down 18 inches I agree that type of heating has a place but if I were to build a new large shop that's not were I would spend my money I think spray foam and a quality overhead radiant heat system would be less expensive to purchase, run and operate. waste oil is a waste the Acoe shop here has gone through 2 systems and have now switched heat source to propane. The waste oil was messy and constantly needing cleaning to work right and filter and heated oil

I agree and disagree my experience working in mine Agree SPRAY FOAM closed cell this past winter had the roof and gables done and all joints/corners and was immediately cost effective at least 14 high side walls, 16 if you want to do aloft and do scissor truss even on one end for the loft head space 4 post lift vs pit radiant heat 6" floor with rebar and fiber water and bath room concrete apron at least 20 ft in front of doors 220 outlet near door water near door Disagree Radiant Floor-My neighbor was constantly battling fuel use vs warmth. He just finished re-insulating has R 21 in the walls and R 32 on the roof and was only able to cut his propane use by 1/3rd at 60 degrees 40x60 16 ft walls 6 inch slab with reflective insulation on the ceiling. He is now going to install a forced air or overhead radiant heat system to supplement and has also are trenched around the slab and added more stryofoam to the edges based on a ac/heat engineer recommendation Wish list add air lines in floor in the center as well as electrical exhaust fan/ventilation Doors on side vs end ( mine is 30x50x14) I also have lean to on one side 14 x 50 ( id id not build it it was here when we bought but if it sat the other direction I would not be looking at building another building.

Superliner Hood Welting/Seal

kscarbel2 "When your Mack dealer looks up the part number of the hood cowl welting using your truck's model and serial number, they should be able to provide you with the correct part.........without any doubts." Perhaps but when I give them the vin# for this truck they say it is not long enough and ask me for a part number!?! I have tried to get the online parts look up but I guess owning at one time more than 5 trucks was not good enough had to own at least 10, funny you don't even need to own a John Deere and you can get all the parts look up and price you want. -

Vladislav not 100% sure I am guessing it will be rubber My truck is a hayward -
Looking for a part number for a superliner 1 hood welting or seal, Mack gave me 2RU139F but that looks like something for a B then they came up with 12AX136F and that is like $10 a foot supposed to be just a rubber strip. I called DEX as it googled up with a picture and they don't have it anymore. Did find PAI floor mat for the R series and ordered it FMT-5731 (front) and FMT-5733 (rear)

I have had good luck over the years with pressure treated and mine is flush to the deck. When I called around for rough cut oak could not find any that was reasonably priced ( in my budget) my neighbor said they used I think cotton wood on the 7 or 8 lowboys his company had, than switched to a man made material and they stopped replacing decks. Back in Maine we used rough cut tamarack for potato truck beds and they seemed to last, another guy used diemsional spruce or fir and he never treated it but kept his trucks inside For what you are going to do I think pressure treated is more than enough

Well like most things it seems to never end but I am calling it done. All the paint is done, all lights work, all brakes work and it is decked with new tires. I still want to build a railing around the upper deck and my wife thinks I should add mid trailer turn lights . It is now a basically a new trailer everything been touched new air lines, wire, new plug,etc... Pulls real good and stops, after the ride to get fuel I torqued all lug nuts to required specs. Hear is picture of my ramps. When I get her loaded I will take some more pictures.
