  1. Happy Birthday, I figured with a handle like that you would be at least 125 today.
  2. Anyone interested in going to look at it to see how much bondo and rust termites it has?
  3. That is exactly what I have been looking for hopefully its not in bad shape. BTW I will make sure the bed is empty before bring it to KC this past winter sucked!
  4. Was wondering if someone that is close might want to go look at a truck in Mt Kisco, NY or if they know anything about it/ seen it before.
  5. Are you going to take it some place to charge or use the "over the counter" arctic freeze?
  6. That is what I am hoping, just heard back from Jim Hawk Trailers today and the service manager is going to come look at it next week and give me an estimate. I am going to have them fix all the structural stuff the sand blasting, wiring and service I am going to do. I suppose I could do the hangers and may depending on the price but if they do it, I would think it might be faster since they do that stuff every day.
  7. Thanks, Its gonna have to look good behind my Superliner for now a guy from Ohio bought my R yesterday, he came to look at the B but thought it would be to much to drive for his dad so he offered to buy the R and he drove it back to Ohio. Here are a few more pictures was able to mess with it some more yesterday afternoon. Fixed the landing gear just need to figure out what I am going to do about the cap. Looks like all new brakes and stuff a couple of new slack adjusters also. But will need a little work on the front axle hanger mount.
  8. A truck auto body shop a year and half ago was $4500 to $5500 just to do the cab on my R. I found a guy who has a small shop and ended up around $2500 but took 6 months, worked on it when he felt like it. Don't get me wrong, he used good paint, did some minor repair, used the correct primer for the hood ect... and it is an excellent paint job. I helped him do some dis-assembly and re-assembly and pointed things out as we went which I think led to a better paint job for less money, not sure what it would have been like if he painted it in a week, it was so slow that he had to make sure things were right.
  9. That card board is less than $10 per sheet can also buy online but shipping would get you. Any upholstery shop would have it comes in a couple ways regular which is 36 x 50 and water proof that is 36 x 48. I know you have messed with the seats but it would be worth taken them a part and cleaning and sanitizing and just re-stapling them, that is something you can do and is really easy. You may want to re-place the ply wood also, that will make the seats not stink anymore or the truck and help keep the vermin out. Wal-mart sells foam squares for like $2 bucks that will fit the seat tops to protect your "rear" from the rotted out foam and burlap. For about $50 in materials you could have everything less than the headliner redone.
  10. Thanks for the up close picture was wondering how they were made and what held them in now I know
  11. Coming along good couple more days is all you got left. Are you going to pant the shifter and pto levers? /
  12. I am sure Watts Mack the sponsor of this site can help. Follow the links over to the site and send them an email.
  13. My 78 RW came factory with 24.5, 4.64, RTO12513 and a NTC 400 and was supposed to have a sleeper and haul gasoline and be a 70 mph truck (penciled in 65) **ended up that the dealer never installed the sleeper and put a dump on it**
  14. Looks great as always. Just noticed the covers on the intakes how did you make them> any close ups?
  15. If you were only 2000 miles closer! I wish I knew someone that had one I would give that a try. The trailer repair place has some sort anchors buried in concrete and several different rams up to 200K like a portable press, said that it would take about a day and then a day inspecting and welding up any cracks and installing and welding straps to keep it from sagging again.
  16. I like that wrecker too. Another day or two and hopefully warm weather will be here!
  17. I use a regular electric brake controller set up for 8 axle I have the electronic ones with time sensor and motion. I have one in both of my Macks they seem to work good with my 20K Gooseneck trailer. My B did not have fifth wheel so I made a GN Ball mount and have it set up with a 7 way RV plug, on the R I bought a kingpin receiver tube so depending on which truck or even my 1 ton I just have to swap the tube over about 3 minutes. As far as the don't worry about brakes, if the trailer comes with brakes then they should be hooked up. I know with my trailer loaded with my JD 60 or the Mack B I like the ability to stop.
  18. I know these are expensive but just got an email they are on sale through Peterbiltparts.com, I have ordered stuff through them before and are great to work with. I bought all the suspension parts for that 1970 KW from them and had great transaction. So if you are looking for some LED Headlights they have them on sale. https://www.peterbiltparts.com/lighting/headlamps/lamps-bulbs/mhl-07hilo?utm_source=Peterbilt+Parts+Customers&utm_campaign=485c5a63b9-March_2015_Specials3_3_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_18ff2afd46-485c5a63b9-89971501&mc_cid=485c5a63b9&mc_eid=d3d44858d6
  19. I think that is what I am going to do with the tires and collect some 17.5s. I checked with a trailer place they are supposed to come and give me an estimate on re arch, its not bad for what I need but if I can get it re arched for a couple thousand may go ahead and do it, it may increase the resale value to.
  20. That is some nice stuff. Looks like you can keep everything undercover that helps to keep things nice.
  21. did this ever get taken care of?
