  1. It says for 5, same place I got mine and there was 5 in a box for $45. They also have a slight curve that allowed them to match the roof. I started by installing with taper head machine screws and nylock nuts with star washer than my fat fingers could not get the fronts on the centers so installed some nut inserts and it worked out good and nut the rear. This what I copied from the site>>>> Pack of 5 Amber Cab Marker Lamps. Picture shows 2, but this listing is for 5.. Acrylic Lens. Die cast chrome housing. Mounting Hardware NOT Included. Lens is replaceable. 12V. Length: 7.91". Height: 2.42". Width: 2.53". Center to Center for Bolt Holes: 5.25".
  2. I read in in a service manual or spec sheet, that Mack uses full floating axles and a welded Banjo housing just so this type of repair can be done. Do like Rowdy did and weld it up.
  3. Welcome Looks like you all are getting that truck back together in no time. Looks great, being from Michigan probably glad it has been in a barn for the last 15 years, not much if any rust repair compared to most of the stuff I have seen up there.
  4. the patch on the air cleaner looks great, on my truck it was easier to buy new lights. I bought these ones from ebay the fit good and were cast metal http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-Amber-Truck-Lights-CHROME-Cab-Marker-Lamps-Peterbilt-/281581918845?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item418f971a7d&vxp=mtr
  5. I hope you didn't give to much for it I was the high bidder the last couple times it was listed thought I had it the other day but they cancelled the auction about 1 hour left than relisted with reserve I was the high bidder when it closed yesterday.
  6. I sleuthed it out 1972 Mack R-700 325hp V8 with 5 speed transmission. This is a southern truck with very little rust. It is mainly surface rust on the roof and a small hole in the drivers door. This is a steel dash truck. The truck has new stainless mirrors, clearance lights, horns, and a few newer dogs. The tires are horrible and there is an air leak in a valve. Possibly trade for a Cabover or older Peterbilt. Please no calls after 9pm. 304-288-0243. https://morgantown.craigslist.org/cto/4856141840.html
  7. Sorry to hear that, got divorced once over 20 years ago, keep your head up and take it day by day.
  8. Thanks for validating my post I had been thinking with all those views that I must of wrote in jibberjabber
  9. I can't believe no one has comments on being over priced or something with all the views.
  10. Looks like it is coming along. Probably a little cold to use the paint booth right now.
  11. What??? no one is interested in a well documented here on BMT restore? Or is it because you have to be skinny to drive it?
  12. Non running and rusty with bondo, for that price makes me feel good about asking top dollar for my B.
  13. When was the last time the valves were adjusted? Did they reuse the springs?
  14. I thought all Mack axles have a built in automatic (built in) power divider, supposed to put in low gear and feather the brakes to engage it, and the inter axle lock is a option.
  15. I stumbled across a decent solid tri axle low boy rear load with ramps. The trailer has a 20 foot deck and 20 foot over the wheels and a short dovetail with flip over ramps. Has 8.25 x 15 tube type Dayton style tires. Probably next week going to go get it, it is in afield and really wet with the snow melt. Has anyone changed the hubs to 22.5 stud or budds? I looked up diameters and seems like the 22.5 low pros are about .5 to 1 inch larger than the 15 unless I am not looking at it right. I thought about 17.5 but then have to buy new rims and tires so I figured if I went with 22.5 would be less expensive for tires as I know I can get decent used low profiles, vs new rims and new tires. I did check on 15s and my tire shop can still get them just don't stock, I can buy them new mounted for $177 the same as the 17.5 both 16 ply. I don't plan on hauling a D-9 with it so the 16 ply will be fine. I do plan on adding a 12k winch and boxing in over the wheels. Any opinions
  16. I like it looks and functions great.
  17. Here is some instructions with pictures on how to upload/post pictures
  18. Great tip! I found a lot of the trim clips and window parts and rubber door gaskets matched older GMC/Chevrolet parts for the B and R door. Interesting, we need to create a posting of all the common match parts here on the site. Thanks for posting it
  19. I wonder if the the trucks will be all mechanical and adaptable to a military platform. Seems to me that with everything that is going on with China and the PRC Army this would be a non starter at this level. Look what is going on with the Alibaba. http://www.wsj.com/articles/alibabas-beijing-burden-1423179893 And since foreigners (Ford) cant own a company in China how is this supposed to work. http://thediplomat.com/2014/09/no-one-who-bought-alibaba-stock-actually-owns-alibaba/
  20. Pretty cool, how did you find that piece of history?
