  1. My thinking is that most air ride pressure is controlled by the height control valve and if the check valve at the tank was not working it would allow the air to flow back to the tank on a sudden impact vs releasing to atmosphere because the axel would be moving up opening the height control valve and with the added weight of the trailer pushing down would create a blast of air backwards into the tank like bellows blowing air. Most air ride systems that I have seen and worked on don't have a separate pressure regulator except aftermarket add on front air bags and lift axels.
  2. that looks to be the same set up as what is used in the military 6x6 set ups
  3. Looks good for a junk yard rock box How much more to go?
  4. Thanks for the pictures
  5. Are you changing from summer air to winter? I already did the tires on my trucks.
  6. Welcome nice set up
  7. Congrats with all the driving that you have done should be easy for you.
  8. What part is that? the fender mud flaps?
  9. I say yes. Sometimes I find something and want it and like you it gets gobbled up, there is no way to know if it was because it is posted here. Heck some of the posts are the only reason most of that stuff does not get scrapped. I am in the process of getting another truck in Colorado, actually need to go get it, anyways had it not been posted on here I would not have probably found it. I did tease Superdog about it by asking if I could get first dibs but like anything first come first serve, whats the old saying money talks! I just sold a 1980 782 IH cub Cadet (collectable)tractor with 220 hours all attachments snow blower, mower deck, plow, blade, wagon, disk, harrow, tire chains extra new wedges in the pack. Got a lot of calls and the first thing I tell them is if you want it come and get it if you cant come for a certain amount of time send a deposit otherwise it is first come first serve keep checking on CL if it is listed it is still for sale. A guy called me on Monday he said he could not come until Thursday or Friday he was up near Illinois did not want to send a deposit I took his number and said Okay. Another guy called on Monday from down near Springfield was interested told him the same thing. He said he would be up on Thursday, he called before he left to make sure I still had it this morning and 3 hours later pulled in looked it over paid, we loaded it, I took down the CL ad and called the guy from Illinois and he understood with no hard feelings.
  10. Cleaned up nice, glad you got it. Door felts and gaskets give these guys a call I bought all my door stuff from them for my R and B no issues http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/ The part number I think was WI204 any how when you call them they will tell you the dimensions also bought the cat whiskerstoo.
  11. Not sure of the who what why and where of the Gary Mahan collection or the reason behind it but the website needs to be updated and get rid of the ads and show some trucks.
  12. I hope he gets a good deal on those parts otherwise 3 mark up before the poor driver has to get them. Yikes!!! The truck looks great looks like it did not take no time to freshener her up.
  13. Why are these deals not in Missouri!!!
  14. I guess you have long drive ahead of you. BTW I wonder how the supplies are getting there since the head of the CDC said we cant do charter flights
  15. Anybody seen these yet? Any one got some pictures and what they really look like? I spoke with Tony and trying to work a deal on the 1978 so if someone has seen them please post. He is supposed to get some and text them tomorrow before he heads out. He said that the 78 was a dump originally with aluminum frame but was converted to a tractor. Wet kit been removed, same with the other one except it had an in frame done and is steel framed. Thanks
  16. Post what you find and take some pictures I like that 78 too and it is in my price range can I get first dibs Mike? Looks like it would take a sleeper??
  17. When I read the title I thought it was the one PM you about. I like that R, you looking for any drivers yet??? I can do some local stuff here in Kanas City with her for you if you want.
  18. Don't believe the hype, I tried to get one from Watts for the 1980 R and was told no luck
  19. Wow! I almost got inspired to redo my rusted out F model, need to see more Pictures before I tackle that one.
  20. My $.02 cents The air bags is pushing air back into the tank and popping the relief valve, there is supposed to be a check valve at the tank where you plumbed for the air ride to prevent air returning. If you have one perhaps it is weak, if you don't I would start there, the flexing of the air ride is more drastic at slow speed than at faster speed because you are already over the bump before it can react the same.
  21. Looking good, how about some inside pictures?
  22. At that price I might list my B61
