  1. After six months of being at the painters this is where she is at, supposed to finish the hood tomorrow. It is supposed to be white with black fenders and front following the curve of the hood. The body work turned out decent and I have been over every once in a while to help move things along. Should be like a nearly new truck new window channel, window squeegees, window gaskets, vent gaskets, headlight buckets, exhaust, fender lamps, turn signal lamps... Before it went to the painters you might remember that I re-did the inside, painted the frame and some mechanical work such as fuel transfer pump, brakes, clutch linkage some wiring, air line & valve and new fifth wheel.
  2. Pretty awesome, is that a go pro in there? Am I going to see you on Won & Done?
  3. Looks like it was laid over while dumping, I don't think it is uncommon for a dump trailer to roll over on uneven and soft ground, such as sand. I would have thought they did it like this with an off shore dredge pumping sand up pipes onto the beach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PM0R53SOOE
  4. You know I walked by that car several times and not being a mustang fan never even looked it over
  5. Glad it worked out. Yesterday took the family to the pig roast held at Dan Agges down south of Nevada, MO. He has that IH Museum, nice turn out. Dave cooked the pig and it was nice and juicy, ate it without any sauce! Dave seems to cook for every meeting or event, that in itself is worth the membership dues
  6. Its looking good, you going to drive it or trailer it to Springfield?
  7. It is hard to say but I notice I have to watch my speed with these songs going. There are a lot more but these are at the top. Metallica Seek & Destroy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-tvJcTPxHc Five Finger Death Punch Lift Me Up (Featuring Rob Halford of Judis Preist) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-2yuGgp_U8 BTW Five Finger Death Punch has done a remake of the House of the Rising Son, if you don't like the music mute and watch the video looks like a couple chopped and ratted out Macks. Side note to that Five Finger Death Punch has done a lot of for the troops and have done USO tours since they have been together, most famously to the troops was there remake of Bad Company https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_VsvZmIWxY
  8. Nice job, I just need a larger wallet.
  9. What style brakes do you have now? You might be able to upgrade them for not much money
  10. Looks like the center bolt is about rotted away. You will need to get the rear springs off or at least taken free from the other suspension parts. Once you do that you can replace the bolt or take to a spring shop or pay someone to do that work. Worst part is everything is heavy and big. The center bolt keeps the spring pack together and aligned over the axle and/or over the other suspension components depending on setup (single axel, tandem,...). The center bolt holds the springs and every thing aligned, it is a critical part of the suspension. Luckily they are not that expensive and you can get them from a parts store or spring shop.
  11. Until you get into it find a local school that offers both so you can get support until you get the hang of it. For myself, I am an Adjunct Professor (which really means part time or when they need me to sub, depends on the what is being offered) with a local college. I also take classes from Columbia College http://www.ccis.edu/ very in expensive and really like them but enrolled for the degree portion at Excelsior College http://www.excelsior.edu/. More expensive, but that's is where my degree is from originally years ago when it was Regents. So like what was said before they accepted all of my credits so I did not have to take any classes over. Columbia College said I would have to about 45 semester hours and Excelsior was 30.
  12. In my opinion, the one on Iron planet is about 20K over priced you can see that the frame paint was over some rust in a couple pictures, looks like it was given a paint job to make it look clean. The one on truck paper not sure what they are asking but anything over 7K with an in person inspection I think would be too much. That one on CL is about right and seems to be in just as good as shape, but being from up in the rust belt and being plow trucks they need to be inspected carefully both the cab and frame
  13. Welcome! Lots of nice folks here. We love pictures, odd ball stuff and since we try and help each other follow ups are always great.
  14. Air Brakes Troubleshooting 101 Slow or No Release of Brakes POSSIBLE CAUSES: 1. Hinge Pin on Brake Pedal 2. Air Delivery Lines restricted 3. Control Line restricted (Delivery of Brake (Foot) Valve to Service Port of Relay restricted) 4. Relay Valve not exhausting 5. Quick Release Valve not exhausting 6. Brake (Foot) Valve not exhausting 7. Binding parts in the Foundation Brake Step #1 Check Hinge Pin in Brake Pedal. If free, go to Step #2. Step #2 Have an assistant make a brake application and release. Listen for exhaust noise from the exhaust ports of: Relay Valve Quick Release Valve Brake (Foot) Valve If there are no exhaust noises, go to Step #3. If exhaust is normal, go to Step #4. Step #3 Check for restrictions in all Delivery Lines from the Valve that is not exhausting. If a kink or dent is not found, remove and check internally. NOTES: Line could be plugged or may have been crimped with vice grips or pliers. If line is free of restrictions, replace or repair valve. Step #4 Check S-Cam. It should rotate freely (Cam Brakes). Check Anchor-Pins (Cam Brakes). Check Wedge Assembly and Actuation Housing (Wedge Brakes). Check Clevis Pin in Slack Adjuster. It should rotate freely (Cam Brakes).
  15. I would not think it would be the treadle valve as it only happens to the rear axle and not both rears with a slow release. I would still like to know if you release the air line at the t-splitter on the rear axle if it holds air.
  16. is that a JD440 ICD or gasser?
  17. Ditto to what they said, I have them on my B61 no power steering, the only thing I can tell is it still drives like it has no power steering
  18. Did you check to see if the rear brake line is holding air at the t split? Did you recently have the brake shoes replaced? If so did the replace the brake hardware and springs correctly? Post some pictures of the valves that you replaced so we can tell what you call a valve is the same as what we call it.
  19. Welcome :-)
  20. Easy way to see if it is the quick release is to loosen the air line and see if it is holding any air. On my R the rear was slow to release loosened the air line at the t split mounted on rear axle and it had some residual air took the quick release off and disassembled it and cleaned it because it is aluminum alloy it has a tendancy to corrode and can stick. Cleaned mine up then sprayed with wd 40 to slow the process again been a year- they are not expensive if you need to replace.
  21. what are you going to make the wheel base 72", 96" or 102"?
  22. I paid $10 to rekey one of the locks for the R, I had bought a set of the door locks off ebay for my B paid $25 with free shipping, the B was missing the locks on both sides. From what I could tell it is the same set up as what is on the R
  23. So is that a New Jersey lean??
  24. Actually if you can get the lock cylinder out you could get them keyed a like. Just did that a month or so ago for my R, the lock cylinders were mismatched and I had two keys
  25. It looks great, must be the NLA that drives the price up
