  1. I was listening to road dawg trucking on XM a couple weeks ago and they were talking about the PA turnpike and pay to play and some company from Australia trying to get it. I was going to post the link but BMT wont let me
  2. Didn't PA road woes come from selling/leasing the turnpike? I guess they took the money and spent it now wondering how to fix the roads, kind of sounds like Washington D.C.
  3. They all sell individually. Since I cant look at it, my thoughts are you may want to replace everything. The brake chambers might be able to be reused if they are long enough that you can cut off the old welded on yolk and add new ones with the jam nut, but chances are they will be to short and for the cost of that stuff may not be worth the effort. They should look something like this one
  4. just get them welded back together, any one worth there salt as a welder can tig them back, look at mine cant even tell unless you get out a microscope , Of alI that broken script stuff I only had to over size 1 hole to get it one to mount. If you cant get your script fixed send them to my and I will take them over to my neighbor
  5. has the wrong slack adjuster, yes not dot approved
  6. Can you get a picture I don't understand what you are getting at, unless you are saying someone tack welded the yolks to the threaded rod
  7. Joe good catch I did not see that at first when I wrote my post, if someone does not catch that before they bid, they probably wont pay for it. With a busted motor I would say it is only worth $1000-$1200 even with paint, to fix it the front has to come off and that takes a chance of damaging the finish especially if it was not taken a part the first time to paint.
  8. Mike Just check out my birthday cake, now that is why I have a Christmas Savings Account! Sometimes I feel like Rodney Dangerfield "no respect"
  9. Scobby? sorry that's a dog Dinha maybe?
  10. Why do they all have to be so far away
  11. didn't sell, what a surprise http://www.ebay.com/itm/331066240097?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649, Here is the other one that I doubt will sell unless the reserve is lifted and this one is "rare" http://www.ebay.com/itm/321252661072?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I think this one will sell, probably bring $4000-$5000 even as a contour cab, BTW this looks like the one that was listed in the for sale section that is in Maine http://www.ebay.com/itm/291022393036?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  12. here is one with buds http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/4156545082.html
  13. Here is another option this one I bet is close http://easttexas.craigslist.org/hvo/4136314323.html http://amarillo.craigslist.org/cto/4134182474.html
  14. seen this one, double frame, put a body on it and for under 10K should have a nice truck http://stlouis.craigslist.org/hvo/4202955814.html
  15. I don't blame you on the insurance, it is not an at fault incident I doubt it will drive up the premium if there has not been a claim or its been a while. We got hit back to back in 2007 with hail and never did a thing to the insurance. Besides the only reason for comprehensive is for stuff like this anyway.
  16. Your truck seems to run pretty good, keep up with the pictures and videos, great job!
  17. do you have some more pictures you can post?
  18. Do you have any pictures of the inside?
  19. I totally understand, to my point and speaking only to my point, I am not going to do anything to my truck that is going to endanger my kids. Modern truck sleepers are designed to provide rollover protection and safety/seat belt tie downs. So when I do it, I will ensure a reinforced floor for the seat belt mounts, emergency egress, etc... the trucks that I have now, insurance company don't ask about seat belts or who is riding in them only who is driving. Speaking to seat belt and safety I put seat belts in my B61 for the kids and replaced one in my R. Seatbelts are not a big deal to install if you know what you are doing, use proper hardware and follow the instructions my 8 year old could have installed them.
  20. I would say that is probably correct as that's what was holding in mine and it is a 1980 with no hood repair
  21. I am planning on converting a sleeper into seating so I can haul around my kids. I have done some measuring and a 36" sleeper would work but it would be like an extended cab pick up, the 46" to 60" would be best, then it would be more along the lines of a crew cab. Since I am trying to keep costs down with the project they will have to climb in through the cab, they are kids so it will be fine, but then again if the people that want to go with you really want to go they will climb in with out much fuss. I will add a couple small window or at least a tinted back window. Most older sleepers have side access doors any ways that can be used in an emergency. I saw a 1980's GMC General that had a gutted sleeper with a couch in it as inspiration, when I do mine it will have 3 individual seats with lap seat belts mounted to the seat.
  22. they are reproductions and the pins don't always line up check messages I PMed you
  23. you mean I can't get this car??, how about just the phone? No, really?? never mind, I guess I will have to go put some more neatsfoot oil on my made in the USA work boots
  24. It is great to know you are working that truck, that's what I like to see rather than all the shiny chrome trailer queens
