  1. Welcome, nice truck for your project
  2. This is typical of someone selling something that they have no idea what it is or what it is worth, probably an estate item. Why don't one of you fire truck experts contact the seller to let them know what it is, at least that way it would sell to someone who might restore it and care for it instead of the scrapper.
  3. Darn it hatcity, I just submitted a bid for snow removal in Hawaii, the Hawaiian Airport Czar said that they heard about your company in Florida and all that great FWD and Overalls equipment. He told me they could not accept my bid because they were going to offer the work to you using the Streamlined Non-Competing Award Process (SNAP). I might as well buy a couple shovels and pack in my and head out to Fiji, somebody must of not heard about your international runway snow removal company!
  4. Does that mean the price is over the moon?
  5. I couldn't tell in your pictures that the hood was damaged, where is it broken or was it hit?
  6. Dagnabit!, that's probably why I cant find the FWD heavy duty snow-removal equipment website, you must have bought em all!
  7. can you post a picture and where did the truck come from? Two important questions to tell you if it is 220.
  8. Oh BTW, since they are still making trucks can post a link to the FWD heavy duty snow-removal equipment website, I am looking at getting into airport snow removal in Florida.
  9. Not to hijack the thread, it maybe called FWD Seagrave on the company website, but if you actually go to the ELB website who owns them they only mention Seagrave Fire Apparatus not FWD. Just because they rebadge Seagrave trucks with FWD does not mean that they are still alive. In my circles that usually means something different. (FWD Seagrave is a portfolio company of ELB Capital Management, LLC. For more information, go to ELB Capital Management, LLC (www.elbcap.com))
  10. since you are going to get it post some good pics of it so we can see what you are getting!
  11. Maybe you need to go kick some badgers instead of the bulldog puppies, oh I guess they are all extinct (reference to Badger Four-Wheel Drive Auto Company , aka FWD) Didn't they take all the remains and bury them at sea? or was that called Seagrave?
  12. Wow a Volvo and a Detroit Diesel, I am glad the comments were not as bad as I thought they were going to be when I first started reading this thread. Congrats on the new truck, just put a dog on the hood and pull the Volvo off the hood no one will know the difference.
  13. My first two questions are, when was the last time it ran and how skinny are you? I have a B61 contour cab, don't eat any extra cheese burgers.
  14. Looks awesome, I just ordered an new muffler for my R today, hope it will quite her down.
  15. Here is a decent single axle for sale, bet if this sells it will be for less than 10K. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-1960-Mack-B61-Diesel-truck-/331066240097?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4d1515ec61&item=331066240097&pt=Commercial_Trucks An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay and what the market can bare, does that mean that there is not someone out there willing to pay top "off the chart" dollar for a truck?, no. But to the point that 220cummins is asking what would a fair price be so that it can sell in a reasonable amount of time? Comparing an auction that is over 1.5 years ago for a different model truck that is by all accounts rarer and was the Antique Club Of America show winner (museum quality restoration) with provenance is like comparing apples to grapes. Go look at truck paper and you will see the same over priced trucks week in and week out, remember this classic http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4177625, it was talked about on BMT a couple time, they are not even listing a price now but if I remember right it was around $50K. That truck has been sitting for at least year. There are many examples just like this on CL, Ebay and other websites and just as many threads on here about an owner and his over priced truck. Telling 220cummins his truck is worth more than 10K is not answering his question. Tell him what you would think is a fair price if you were to buy it is. I hope he takes my suggestion and keeps it, but if he decides to sell it that is his choice, but we should all be able to help him figure out what a fair and reasonable price would be.
  16. Yes Napa, Car Quest, Oreillys probably any place that has parts or can order them. I buy my standard filters from FleetFilter.com for the year they have them to.
  17. You got a link I could not find anything on it except this http://www.9wsyr.com/news/local/story/Oneida-Indian-Nation-s-Halibritter-meets-with/0DtFQRcq9UOOOI93oDhDHg.cspx
  18. I just reviewed the pictures again, lots of work done. You will never be able to recoup that equity. I would say 10K-11K would be fair price because you can document the mechanical repairs that were done, it was just not a sandblast and paint job. With that said why not keep it to show the work you have done, what better way to prove your skill than an example of your work. Use it as collateral for business loan for the amount you would get out of it than you can use it as a write off. Nothing represents a repair shop than a rolling cool looking billboard.
  19. They have a bunch of them on ebay for under $100, looks like they cant be more than 4inch square, just have to make a spacer adapter for it which may cost another $100. I was also looking at the tractor style that you could easily install in the manifolds by drilling and threading the holes. I suppose one could get a short piece of aluminum and drill the holes in that and stick 2 or 3 of the tractor style in it, use a rubber adapter hoses to connect into the intake and put the other end of the intake flex line to that. Then in the summer you could take it off fairly easy, run your power in parallel through a circuit breaker from the battery to a toggle switch and for about $50 you would be all set. The tractor style seem to run $8-$12 http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Ford-Thermostart-Intake-Manifold-Heater-C5NE9A436A-2000-3000-4000-5000-7000-/230794785355?pt=BI_Heavy_Equipment_Parts&hash=item35bc70f24b
  20. Just put a 12v DELCO style alternator on it and take that old stuff off, you will be way head. The alternator should bolt right up use the generator pulley sheave. There is a couple of threads on here about the alternator swaps.
  21. So what did you find out?
  22. So what did you find that was wrong with it?
  23. here you go http://www.ebay.com/itm/1982-Mack-Truck-Maxitorque-Transmission-TRL10760-TRL10780-5-Speed-Manual-N-/380618890066?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item589ea75b52
