  1. My youngest boy can sleep in the B with a straight pipe and bobble his head like a dog in the back window of your grandmas car
  2. So who was it?
  3. The Midwest trucks are mostly farm truck now so they should not be full of rust, as most are sheded and the condition of them is they will be in great shape or beat to death not much in the middle.

  6. Yesterday my daughter and I went picked up a trailer load of Mack AB parts, pulled tires of my new old trailer, welded some wheels on my band saw stand, moved and relocated the shop wood stove and got on BMT, started to read this thread, went and dug up the septic tank lid for today, got on BMT was going to comment on Sleepwalkers truck that I did not know it was white, thought it was gray when I seen it last but my Army battle buddy called so I talked with him for an hour or so, ate dinner, went and closed up the shop and did some shopping, bought 3 pair of overalls 2 for me 1 for my daughter, got back on BMT to see what was going on reading some other threads, taped up my sons broken arm, hung out with the kids, then the wife, then the dog then went to bed. Trailer I am replacing
  7. Is that supposed to be tough or rough?
  8. what did you use for paint on the fenders?
  9. nice truck, congratulations
  10. it is not only the amount of chain it is having the right size chain, a 3/8th chain would not have held that loader unless they were all doubled, the working load limit on 100 proof chain is 8,800lbs and that is static load, meaning if a 8,800lb weight was just setting there that it would hold it from falling over, does not take into effect kinetic energy or shock load. Most people use 70 proof 6,600lbs or 80 proof 7,100lbs which is typical trucker chain that you can buy. I just bought four forged 3/8th grab hooks for some tie down points that I am making that are rated for only 5,700lbs each. If you read the DA Pam I posted, it does a great job explaining working load limits and strength of chains and binders and how they are supposed to be used. Before I retired from the Army I used to explain to all my new Soldiers and after I retired, I also instructed at the US Army Engineering school. I would tell them, engineering nerds with a West Point degree, took the time to test and figure all this stuff out so we don't have to, and we can be the smarter ones because we don't have to do all the work and figure it out, we just need to be smart enough to know how to look it up.
  11. When I was a very young driver I was taught to load most equipment up to the gooseneck and use dunage between than secure. This is what I used as my guide, I still have a hard copy one if I need it, just an older version DA PAM_55-20.pdf
  12. Looks good. I found a chrome bumper on Iowa 80 chrome shop about $350 and found one on 4 states for $325 plus shipping. I am sure shipping would drive the price up
  13. Nice rig, when I first started reading I thought it was going to be pulling a fifthwheel style, but looks cool.

  18. Ah Plumb Island, the place that is moving to the center of the USA in Manhattan,Kansas. Also the place where Lyme disease developed and was accidentally released and Nazi scientists worked after the war. Also the home of the montauk monster. Eventually we will be one outbreak away from the decimation of the US beef stock and its industry and the starvation of the sheeples.
  19. the sad or crappy part is it goes on the CSA report score
