Heart of America Trucking Show Kansas City 2013
thomastractorsvc replied to thomastractorsvc's topic in Odds and Ends
Well here is some more pictures, started raining around noon, steady drizzle with temp around 38 degrees with a 5-10 mph wind. Still pretty decent turn out but as no place to get warm by mid- afternoon a ghost town. Booths were left vacant and unattended the Kansas concert was cancelled and around 6:15, my wife and I went to the cracker barrel and sat in front of the fire place at the checker table for dinner. I was surprised they let us sit there for the meal, by the time we were done eating and I was rubbing my happy tummy we were both thawed out. Tomorrow temps in the mid 60's and clear sky's. I will wait and see, still have some booths to visit and get some free trinkets, never can have enough pens and bumper stickers These trucks were in the show and shine. Real nice trucks this is only about a third of the trucks that were in the competition. -

I was thinking it might be for his door opening since it is the same height as the cab, and you are correct that's his truck, from Maryland I think it said on the side. -

what do ya think about a tag axle?
thomastractorsvc replied to bullhusk's topic in Driveline and Suspension
I would think that two drives would be better and for resale and less hassle. We all know this was done on the old single axles to make tandems but then they got away from it. In Europe the roads and loads are different, I lived in Germany for about 4 years and although they had many singles and singles with tags/pushers the class 8 style trucks had tandem drives. But if you can afford it, money and time wise put on a pusher and plan for a tandem set up if it doesn't work out, personally I would rather go with the tried and true set up and not gamble that it won't work or have problems. I always leave that for the folks that have more money than me. -

Was the jake working on the engine before the install? You should be able to find a jake wiring diagram on there web site follow the trouble shooting guide. http://www.jacobsvehiclesystems.com/parts-service-support/technician-guides/ I am with gearhead204 on the air lines, really hard to tell you were they go with out you tracing them back, some may just be extra, I found two line on my truck that went no where when I was tracing one back to see if it was for a air slide, ended up jut running new line and taking the others out.

How could they...
thomastractorsvc replied to leversole's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
that's what happens when the window gets left down or the broken. I have seen guys at the end of the day leave windows down and complain that the truck is wet or dusty the next day. -

What Happened To Pelletier's Titans?
thomastractorsvc replied to daveigou's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
They run a bunch of older Macks still, my take from it all was Mack did not make a good heavy truck so they looked elsewhere for newer equipment and Western Star makes custom spec trucks, Mack got out of that for awhile and when the made the Titans was to get back into that market, can you get a titian yet with a sleeper? Check out right around 1:55 there is an older Dog running behind the Western Star, also 2:19, 2:50, I like 4:22 (that's funny) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_u_rA4WLR4 Don't blame the Pelletiers for going with Western Stars, that finger should go to Mack -
Cummins aims to put new 5.0L diesel in more market segments

A 673 Mack design is what they need the HP range near the same but with twice the torque. -
You said you are having low oil pressure, I am thinking a seal or oil ring may be leaking and forcing the oil out causing it to heat, kind of like a hydraulic oil, also when the oil thins from heat it can loose it viscosity traits which can contribute to the low oil pressure. then thinner oil is harder to pump, causing the cycle to repeat, I would have to think there is something with that oil pump or seal.

check the oil pump maybe when it got hot something started leaking internaly

Got Another One
thomastractorsvc replied to usmcjimbo's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
what does a typical cab chassis cost for sand blast and decent quality paint? My local body guy done the magic trick and disappeared again the other shops I stopped at I thought were expensive but maybe I am being cheap.
