  1. I watched it and my mother in law had me record it so she can watch it when she comes over. History channel talked more about the stories than the auction part, they made it sound like everything was sold but I had been watching the web site and they sold cars the next day to. Most of the stuff that I was watching was the trade ins. Just about all of them were missing parts and some form of glass. Most had the radiators cut out of them and hood trim and emblems missing, seen a lot of the had to find stuff missing also. You could bid online and most of the bids were $1000 more than I wanted to pay or what I could get locally from CL. I get the no mile/MSO cars but a trade in that was half stripped and setting with the glass busted out for 40 years. That is crazy, I think if I ever do an auction I am going to have them come and do it, cant get those kind of prices with the auctioneers around hear. You come all the way out here and did not stop by Superdogs??? That's is like going to the moon and not getting a picture with the flag!
  2. didn't see one
  3. Mike Where the pictures? Is this the R model you just picked up?
  4. what does it say on the side of the tire?
  5. Before you do anything Check and Repair/Replace the air pressure safety blow off valve on the tanks, if it is building air like that and something is stuck it could blow a storage tank and someone will get hurt, or damage the air pressure system or compressor
  6. they were designed for RVs but I would think it would be ok unless you exceed the tire weight rating. They probably have more flex to improve ride. Here is the chart not sure why you could not find it, http://www.michelinrvtires.com/michelinrv/tires-retreads/tireInfo.do?tread=XRV Search down the chart and find your tire You can also look at the side wall of the tire for Max Load & Pressure on Sidewall and it will tell you weight rating for single and dual applications
  7. there is a place in Maine that makes them, they are in the wiki section. You could make one yourself for about a 1/4 the cost, not much wire in the old trucks. The wire schematics I think are in there too.
  8. Wow, that's alot cant be much more to do, the truck looks great
  9. they are not with holding retired military pay or VA payments
  10. the shut down is selective so they can pinpoint and target individuals that they can max political gain from and sympathy from the public, using WWII vets, sick children etc..., How come the media was all over the WWII vets but not the Air Force Memorial shut down? So the politicians can spin the impact against each other, they sent 7 guards to keep WWII vets out of the memorial which is 2 more than was in Bengasi. Jimmy Kimmell did interviews asking people if they support the Affordable Care Act or Obama Care, should have seen some of the "Sheeple" answers, there was one follow up question that asked if it was OK for Obama Care to prohibit guns. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504784_162-57605754-10391705/jimmy-kimmel-on-obamacare-vs-the-affordable-care-act/
  11. you may want to check the air tanks for a blow off safety valve most should be set for 150/160. You could also take a pressure gage and stick it on the air tank
  12. Nice looks to be pretty decent shape too.
  13. what do you mean half right? jocko needs a v-8 spare/parts and tbone wanted to fix up a junked parts truck, seems this one fits that category, perhaps they could go halfs and jocko get the motor and tbone get a truck to fix up
  14. that would be a good spare for Jocko or a fixer upper for Tbone
  15. keeping my fingers crossed that this new health care act does not hurt my military medical retirement benefits, spoke with my doctor and he is still going to keep accepting Tricare.
  16. You can't make a 1977 Mack R model run like a new one when you leave a 237 and a two stick in it. Seems like it was a cool idea, just not thought out, heck he could have saved some money and bought that one that is on its way to Nigeria.
  17. Heck I am with you, he said they put air ride and its is sitting on a granite frame,
  18. I got a call back from the owner, he said it is now $63,000. He said he had it at Manders Diesel Repair for the restore and has over $110,000 in it, he said he ran the truck for about 3 months but could not get the fuel economy that he wanted, I think he thought it was more under powered as it is a 237 and he is used to driven a 500 and it will only run about 68MPH against the governor. So now he is back to running a large car.
  19. I got all my door stuff from that Jim Carter Chevrolet (old Chevy trucks), I tried the other people that is posted and I had no luck in dealing with them. On the items that he said he did have it was really expensive and when I was asking him questions seemed like I was bothering him. Just spent a few minutes going through my records and found the receipt with part numbers, as you can see they are reasonably priced. >>Click on the PDF file to open<< jim carter.pdf BTW I did not use the 3m adhesive on that truck, used it for something else and used the stuff from Oreilly's when I did the assembly
  20. Nice pictures.
  21. But they charge Mack prices, wanted to get some wheel studs a couple weeks ago, $2.65 PAI price via Fleet Pride (about 4 days) had to order, Mack had 10 in stock for $10.75 each, bought just what I needed, the package said PAI, nice mark up.
  22. I called the shop out there and got a phone number for the truck, have not heard anything from the owner yet but the shop said that they were asking $78K, the inside is supposed to be like new. It is a 1977 with a two stick. Truck has been setting for a couple months but is mechanically supposedly in good shape.
  23. This is the glue I used, I got it at Oreillys about $7 a tube, I bought a couple tubes used it for some other stuff on the truck, and to install the rubber gasket around both doors. I bought my window channel and door gasket from Jim Carter Chevrolet, I took my remnants over there and were able to match them up, I bought a sun visor pad (about 1" size difference), the window channel, squeegee, weather strip and some small odds and ends. Back in the day there were only a few manufactures of that kind of stuff so most of it is very similar or the same. About half the cost elsewhere, if you need something let me know and I check for you if they need to see something it to match up.
