  1. Mike you make me laugh!!!
  2. mine was only clean because of the fuel leak so I pressured washed it. Made it a lot nicer to work on and when I was I wasn't afraid of getting crap in the fuel system. the fuel transfer pump is hooked to the injector pump and runs like off a cam, pull the line off on the far side before it goes into the filter and crank it over with the fuel shut off pulled so the truck wont try and start to see if it is pumping fuel? sounds like what was happening to mine. The pump is not a hard fix to replace a little pricy, just make sure its clean and take your time I was afraid I would break one of the 1/4 inch bolts that hold it on by always not knowing my own strength. I moved everything out of the way, filters etc... and still only took about 45 minutes taking my time.
  3. you probably took with a cell phone, you need to orientate the phone before taken pics, I figured that out with my wife's phone fixed it for ya
  4. Take a picture of the fuel injector set up, does the tach cable hook into the fuel line like this? If so got the answer to your problem and how to fix it
  5. so what did you find out was your problem? my fuel transfer pump had a bad seals and was allowing fuel to drain back to the tank, replaced it and all is fine
  6. Let me be the 10th member to welcome you, I used to live near Laurel, MD and ran truck part time for a moving company and was a full time over the road driver for the Army Field Band from 1999 to 2002
  7. Thought the same thing, if someone buys it I take the visor, I think it would look good black on a yellow cab
  8. got floats on the front long enough for a sleeper, make a nice heavy haul, maybe I will get and fix it up and go see if I can get hired as an ice road trucker wit VP express
  9. Looks Good, I'm in Missouri and use Ballard Mack for most of my Mack needs, really good guys. I have been dealing with the West Springfield location.
  10. That KW looks to be a decent candidate for a restore
  11. I looked at the rest and compressed and turned them, they all seem to be good with no cracks/rust or bad spots, couldn't see all parts of the inside ones that good but was able to turn them and compress so I know they are not broken. None of the others have any coke or rust on them. I contacted a couple different places and Watts about new springs, not available new that I could find. Looks like it will be a used one.
  12. See if you can contact Ballard Mack in Massachusetts, I have had good luck with them, ask them to see if they can fax or email you the couple pages you need.
  13. Video of yesterdays drive, around minute mark 4:50 is when the spring broke http://youtu.be/9fZxTCGHioo
  14. Took the front bumper off to wrench over the engine, got up to TDC, removed the rocker arm assembly and took the spring keeper out and pulled the springs, both inner and outer were broken.
  15. That's what I was thinking, now to find a spring!
  16. I was hoping to replace without pulling the head, that's something you can do with the 673?
  17. Yesterday I was coming back from a ride in my B61, and sounded like the exhaust started leaking, and I picked up a miss, was not running to hard about 2k and 50 mph, did not loose oil pressure, no leaks drove about a mile back to the house and pulled into the shop grabbed the head bolt studs and all seemed tight. I scratched my head for a minute and then started it back up, poking around the engine it sounded like the noise was coming from the front valve cover, reached down on the pump and shut the motor off went in side. This afternoon pulled the valve covers off and found a broken exhaust spring on the front cylinder, Keeping my fingers crossed that it did not drop far enough to hit the piston as the valve still moves up and down easily. Is there a place to source the head gaskets, valve springs exhaust and intake gaskets and head bolts as if I take the top apart I should change them or do I now have a boat anchor?
  18. Let me be the second one to welcome you Ditto what he said

  23. he must of relisted it to move to the top. Has anyone called about it?
  24. If its not throwing codes may be weak, dirty or hanging springs in a solenoid. BTW what type of turbo is it?, the one that has variable pitch blades? If so could be that hanging up.
