  6. looks like the neck has been extended, wish it was about 800 miles closer
  7. What codes is it showing? Have all the lines and everything been checked?
  8. Let me be the first to welcome you!
  9. I have used SKF Speedi-Sleeves and have good luck on steering shafts. Sometimes a new shaft is not much more than the speedi sleeve so I will go that route
  10. have you thought of changing it to negative ground?
  11. I just looked it up, the book shows just the opposite, (2) Positive cables goes to ground stud on starter motor and (2) Negative cables go to solenoid
  12. Mack went to standard negative ground on all highway models in 1977
  13. Is yours positive ground? Mine is not and the (2) positive cables 1 from each side go to the + side on the solenoid and the (2) negative 1 from each side goes to the stud - on the bottom of the starter motor
  14. The system is 12 volt, they used two 6 volt connected in series to make 12 volt, (4) 6volt batteries 2 battery each side. I have two 12 volt series 31 on each side. I may one day if it wont crank in the winter add two more battery's. If you put 12 volt batteries in it make sure to mark the positive and negative on each side. Mine were unmarked and it was a pain to trace. When you hook up the 2 new 12 volt battery's use the marked leads that go to the starter as if they were 6volt., That will make you 12 volts parallel to the starter. If you use (4) 12 volt battery's make sure when you tie the 2 battery together on each side it is positive to positive and negative to negative
  15. Looks like the next time we see pictures they will be in South America, Africa or China
  16. That looks like its setting on a chevy frame with a chevy step side bed early 80s, maybe wrong but looks an awful lot like my two of my friends pick ups when I was in HS
  17. How far you willing to go to get one?
  18. Check to see if the wiring has been hacked, if a new turn signal indicator was installed or head light switch or the flasher switch on the dash is in the right position
  19. I think the problem is when they get them apart they don't seem to be able to get them back together right, you need the book to do it. The book will explain all the tricks and set up. I have replaced steering shafts, seals and gears on steering boxes and you cant "wing it" as the steering will be off.
  20. I thought the industrials were yellow
  21. if you have any questions just ask, I will help any way I can
  22. great pictures thanks for posting
  23. After you mentioned it I remember seeing them on there to, I went on purple wave to see what they went for, I don't think it is one of the trucks, the three listed on PW had white from the top of the doors up and they are listed as 78s with square thanks. I did see one of them for sale on CL before I bought my R, about three months or so ago up in your neck of the woods for about 2k over what it went for.
  24. stuff like that always seems to happen when you don't have a spare, but had good luck with the tire repair and the trooper I am sure that made a bad day into good day! It is always about attitude
  25. Was surfing the local CL and found this, looks to be decent for the price http://kansascity.craigslist.org/grd/3962870299.html If someone is interested let me know and I will go look at it for ya, never driven a Cummings Mack before.
