    anyone know what the cid is of the EY and EP engines were in LJ's prior 1950.just picked up parts book on LJSW and list all three gas engines plus two Cummins deisels.The HB 600 &NHB600.

    We had a lot of problems with broken studs in off hyway log trucks pulling max torque allday.Most of the time we had to pull head to get broken piece out.it would be how long it had been broken and how many hrs was put on it in broken condition.can you tell if there any loose wear on hard washer.getting broken piece out with out any trouble tells me it wasn't broken long enough to warrent head gasket trouble.     Bob was a ICON to Mack trucks here on the west coast.He knew more about Mack's than anybody I knew other than Marv Comer.He will be missed at all truck shows here in northwest.My condolanses to his family from all of us on Vncouver Island that knew him.Bob D

    burnin oil: It might depend on which model"L" Mack you have.Mine is a LJSWX and was made by GEMMER,500 series,also used in Kenworths.Hope this sheds a lite on things.Bob D

    just ahead of the coil on timing gear cover is type of engine.should read EN-!!! !!-!!!expenation marks should be numbers.first three will be engine size be it a 431 or 510 cid next set willb engine serial numbers.hope this helps you out.Bob D

    leversole:tank bracket part numbers are 24 QE 1111,the bracket at rear cross member that has tank at rear of truck is 24 QE 1129.Sorry can't help you on battery boxes though.Bob D

    should about 50 mph with that size tire and as long as it had good O/D in aux.My friends has 9.02 with 1200x24 tires with that tr. and .75 aux and his does arond 55.its a LMSW-L but same running gear only NHRBS @ 300.Bob D

    B66 I met up with Marv again in RENO in 2001 and he was running around in a wheelchair then but didn't pry as to why.If you could email his address I would like to send him a card.Bob D

    before you put pump back on whats the gasket like on lifter cover .I have 673 in our b model and thats the gasket thats leaking so will attend to it this spring.Bob D

    Well don't think of coming to canada.$5.94 a imp.gal here.same as gas right now.but they trick us up here and say it's only $1.31 a litre.thats the same size as your quart.Bob D

    This is a B-71 with factory 220 Cummins.The B-21 fire truck hade the 400 Hall-Scott with same front end .Check lenths at a Cummins dealer of the 743 cid and 855 engines also check widths to see if would all fit down in frame.It should do because of flare in rails in engine compartment .Bob D
