  7. the cdl is just a money making racket. when i started driving trailers in the '60s you had to be able to read and write(english). now a lot of them can't even speak it. as far as these companies turning guys loose after a few weeks it's a joke. they think cause they were trained a little they know it all. i drove for 35years and every day i learned something new. when you stop learning its time to go home. j.j.
  8. did you take out a 707? if yes , what are you doing with it. j.j.
  9. dave after the engine has soaked for a few days you should be able to turn it over by hand with the plugs out. after you turn it a few times by hand turn it with the starter(if it will)with the plugs out. she'll spit out the marvel from the cylinders so be careful.and it'll smoke like hell when it starts but you'll know the cylinders have lubrication. j.j.
  10. this will sound stupid but it happened to me twice. the mice built a nest in the bell housing and the nest got jammed between the flywheel and starter gear and you could not turn that engine over. check your bellhousing for varmits and soak hell out of those cylinders with marvel. that has loosened many a motor. good luck. j.j.
  11. make sure your cylinder wall are lubricated after not running for so long. i got a couple of 707's running after sitting for more than 15years but i dumped marvel mystery oil down each cylinder and let it set for a couple of days then i cranked it by hand a few turns and then with the starter. (with the plugs out) it'll smoke (a lot) when it starts till the oil burns out but you know you've got lubrication. good luck j.j.
