  4. i just had a local parts jobber(carquest) check on rings and bearings for my 707B and he claims he can get them from somewhere in mississippi. rings are a bit pricey but i haven't found any others.

  7. in dalton,ma.(western ma) there's a guy who still uses a B-61 dump truck daily in his paving business. it's been re-fired with a 237.
  8. packer is right. it was 1956. i just got rid of a 1956 model255w with a factory sleeper. it had a continental 572 gasser and 5/2sp. rear.
  9. wasn't the word MAGNADYNE in raised letters on the exhaust manifold?
  10. correct me if i'm wrong but i think the first thermodyne was built in 1937. it was a 611 cu.in. overhead valve engine. i had a '38 model 80 fire wagon with a 611 therm. in it.being a fire truck there was some chrome on the engine with aluminum valve covers.

  12. barry or any members. would you know if engine parts for the 707b are still available (rings/bearings/gaskets). was gonna' convert the B-70 to diesel but then it wouldn't be a B-70 would it thanks for any help. j.j.

  17. i had the same trouble barry when i tried to click on the right side of the screen. it downloaded when i clicked on the left side. thought it was just my great computer skills as usual . j.j.

  19. if you have a manual fuel pump why not change to an electric one. most fire companys used to put an electric pump on just for a backup. i had a 1938 model 80 mack that came from the factory with 2 electric pumps and my 47 LS-85 came equipted with an electric. as for the master cyl. you may be able to take the plunger, cups etc. to napa or carquest and if they want to take the time they can measure everything up and prob. match you up with something. try to find a place where somebody has worked for a long time there. they are a lot more helpful. some places will tell you that if the computer can't find the part number they can't help you. good luck.j.j.
  20. dale. what's their labor rate? at 100.00 per hour that's 22.14 hours of work. almost 3- eight hour days. as the old chinaman said.... som-ting-wong. they might as well done an in-frame taking that long. i wish you the best of luck. j.j.

  23. does anyone remember the silver blue L-factory sleeper cab with the flip up nose on it? used to see it up here in mass. in the early 70's. it was from either patterson or trenton,nj. might have said miller or something like that. always wanted to get a picture and wish now i had. j.j.
