  1. and I thought you were a real Canadian... Eh. measure for a square or oblong tank in METRIC and the capacity will be that in litres... ask a five year old to explain it on a serious note, got any room between the rails not in the way of the driveline? or is that illegal? we used to have catwalk tanks on our tractors, will try and find old pics, maybe you don't have room with the lift ram there... BC Mack
  2. I think another update is due... rather than dumping a pile of photos on you at the end... topic today, sliding 5th wheel.. never tackled one of these before, usually they were worn out and we just changed for new. obviously the previous owner found the sweet spot and never moved his slider for years... all in all, not a hard job, just tear down, clean, inspect, paint, assemble.... BC Mack
  3. I think is simply balances out the planet....!! a BMT member in Oregon bought an Aussie Mack last year and nobody screamed " damn importers!!!" a "good home" is where the truck is appreciated.... BC Mack
  4. mhe9 I think the orange volvo coe is a Scania 143 based in Ontario, Canada... ERB and Legacy Express 143's have similar orange paint jobs... BC Mack
  5. no conspiracy here.... it was a photo of the container strikers and their signs seemed ironic after their track record in this city.. here is some tv footage http://globalnews.ca/news/1197505/unionized-truck-drivers-to-join-strike-at-port-metro-vancouver/ unless..... otherdog has changed the internet... hmmm BC Mack
  6. Hey, that's one of our wraparound stetson truckers there.... true Canadians..!!!! ironically his brother truckers went on strike on the west coast recently holding some interesting signs... BC Mack
  7. not sure if this is what you had in mind, but you could gather some ideas from the project notes.... http://hankstruckforum.com/htforum/index.php?PHPSESSID=dadnr4is5i3ll2t6gcn8c7gng1&topic=52765.0 yes, it's a KW but he got it to look very appealing and useable storage in the step area. BC Mack
  8. Ah!!!... got lost there, just like I do at auctions..... BC Mack
  9. A couple I saw 3 years ago in an outdoor collection near Princeton BC BC Mack
  10. then put your name on a check for $12,500... that's all he is asking for.. now think of all that money you just saved..!!! BC Mack
  11. Annual gathering for Hayes and Pacific club members in the region... as usual, a small turnout numerically compared to some shows but great quality and variety of trucks not often seen elsewhere..... Guest trucks other than Hayes or Pacific are always welcomed and give the show some variety... This year there were three Superliners at Saturday's show, and all were E9 V8's, two local and one from Alaska... "just passing by"... most unusual Mutt... a Kenworth W900 with a Mack EM6-237 (hope I got that right)... enough of my journalistic prose, here are the pics BC Mack
  12. play/show, but not seeking trophies, just a nice clean working truck looking like it just came from the dealer.... as in this old photo. my goal is for it to qualify for a "collector plate" as that will drop my costs dramatically... the collector plate is adjudicated by age and condition, so it has to be tidy and correct to the year... no blinged up pimp mobile..!! here in BC, the licencing and basic insurance is the government, ICBC, you can get collission etc private but not basic... so, as a 14,000lb pick-up truck the personal insurance and plate will be over $1500... commercial at 140,000lb gcw is over $10,000.. and you guys want to come live up here.. bring mucho dollaro...!!!! BC Mack
  13. dennis not sure if this helps with your choice of visor... and certainly isn't going to find one for you... but since I had my camera handy when the cab was tilted today I took these for you... there was a data info block and appears it is made in Canada... Eh! BC Mack
  14. checked the electrical diagram... main harness to rear junction plug.. green = back-up white = left turn/brake red = right turn/brake black = tail/licence so, the three 'hots' means brakes applied and tail lamps on... if red or white is flashing turn signal overules the brake. the brake and turn are the same wire... so, red lamps not red/amber at rear get good grounds to all the lamps or you will have more issues. pre-wired lamps don't always match truck wire colours so check the lamp for info caveat emptor... had a long day, hope this makes sense.. BC Mack
  15. E9 motor seems fine but as I'm not mobile I have to see how that works out one day... for now I've done oil and filters... it has had plenty of regular work done to it when operating including a new turbo, a new cam and injectors within 100,000kms but 10 years of storage is bound to give me some grief... you will all read about it here, believe me.. BC Mack
  16. if your lights are like mine... just posted some pics... the red lamp pops out of the rubber housing, the back casing of the lamp indicates the position of each wire (tail/turn/ground) so check the pigtail and match the colour... (red black white seems right??) whatever is left over should be reverse. all bets are off if it is "custom" then you have to dig out the test light and start probing.. BC Mack
  17. MH progress report..... moving along better than planned, did my parts shopping locally and pricing was more reasonable than I expected, assume they are feeling the on-line $$$$ competition. from my normal workshop conditions, hoists, tool room, parts etc... doing this in a gravel yard on my days off is certainly makes me think twice before I complain at work about this or that not being right..!!! it's just a hobby, right? anyway... a few pics for those of you with difficulty reading... next item on the to-do list is the 5th wheel slider... yummy. BC Mack
  18. hi joeytomato who's supplying your E9 parts up there?? local dealer? BC Mack in Vancouver
  19. welcome too... farmer... I've got the same? spreadsheet by John Casanek.. what are the 94/95 builds then?.. assembled from 93 parts? or 'downunder' cousins... dennis101279..... just make sure when you install the sunvisor is doesn't look like a giant chrome bumper..!!!! MHFred is sure to add you to the roll-call as a fully fledged certified MH owner... BC Mack... fellow 93'er
  20. Canada's #1 crop, eh!.... and the politicians can't tax it BC Bud Mack
  21. yeh... but he used a lower case 'v' out of respect for us.... brian57 you may want to try the european trucker/enthusiast boards if it is a universal part... a few F7's around, but far more still in europe... hey Vlad, can you help here? BC Mack
  22. I spoke to Ross for a while... also met him last year at Cache Creek and gave him some info he needed on Telma retarders, another project looming..!! the Dodge looked interesting, and there was a blue Ford F600? near to it... nice to see those "no longer seen" trucks on collector plates. the Scenicruiser is about 18-24 months from the road, 2 days a week is all I can spare... the Ultraliner hit my pocket book on Friday, went shopping at CBS parts, I need a cheaper hobby...!!!!! there's a possibility of me driving over for one of your shows... put it down as a strong maybe but ferries are always an issue.. have you been to the Nanaimo Mack dealer lately? his Superliner is finished and he bought a Sabre (Whistler) E9 MH for restoration. BC Mack
  23. not too many places to go to see Hayes trucks without a big boat ride to Vancouver Island.... for you, hwy 5 north from Osoyoos up to Kamloops, turn left.... pics of last year's show in Cache Creek.. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/32108-truck-show-cache-creek-bc/ small crowd but stuff you don't normally see. http://cachecreektruckshow.org/ BC Mack
  24. you're welcome..!!! the B73 was built up by owner Dwight Clark of Fort St John BC, waaaay up north, he did ALL the work by himself but the paint. It hauls a 4 horse trailer with his living quarters, I doubt if he sleeps in the bunk on the B. if you want Hayes and Pacifics... there is a small show for them in Cache Creek BC on 26/27 July...... or... the next Big Rig show by the same organisers as Chilliwack is in Red Deer, Alberta, 16/17 Aug and draws in more vehicles . I won't apologise for the two Petes... all cabovers are ok for me, even P...t. The owner uses the nearest one for play to haul an RV trailer and the other for work doing heavy haul out of Grand Prairie Alberta, oil, gas and coal related work. He drove down to last years show by car and was so impressed he brought the two trucks and his lowbed this year. as with most shows around here, this was a blend of business in the region as it is not primarily a vintage truck event... heavy haul and logging is over 30% of the show, the crew from the Discovery TV show "Highway to Hell" were there selling overpriced shirts and hats... and I noticed there were no dump trucks there but was told the "wrap around stetson" guys come late just to do the "truck light show"... BC Mack
  25. Our annual local show.... here are a few snaps of what took my interest... if you need to see all the rigs, Hank from Hanks Truck pics was there snapping away..... it's ok to look on his site, he won't bite..!!! BC Mack
