  1. here is a photo of the side panel... the black button you also won't find in a truck anyone wish to hazard a guess what this is from? I am still interested to find out if a 'push to park' was ever a standard fit in a truck thanks BC Mack
  2. Just sounding you old truckers out..... when spring parking brakes (maxi's) were new to trucks they were operated by a lever on the dash, correct?... that in turn became the yellow knob...easy so far. the picture below illustrates the knob I am familiar with... read the instructions carefully... my question... did this method of operation ever appear in the truck industry...? BC Mack
  3. Hey Bad Dog we got lots of those "new canadian" Super Truckers out west in BC easy to recognise on the Coquihalla though... three to a cab with only one licence. they're the ones with the wrap-around Stetsons who can't fit chains on a Super B, BC Mack
  4. Boeing and Cessna should be nervous... and you guys worry about what they will do with Mack trucks... BC Mack http://www.dump.com/aircrafttest/
  5. a 6x4 double drive is a rarity in EU.. only used for heavy haul. Since most US mainline freight usually bulks out I really don't understand why the US hasn't gone for the 6x2 with a lift axle.. heck, even US made coaches are fitted with a steerable tag that can also be used for weight transfer when you need traction. I assume it's a culture thing as 6x4 has always been there. With new technology such as electric brakes now under development and VLT trailers with steering axles there will soon be a better understanding of fuel economics by US fleets. BC Mack
  6. Marcel... to get just the plunger out you have to remove the pedal anyway... if the pin is seized to the pedal you've got to fix it or you will be back to square one... the pin really needs to be floating free and not sticking to the pedal or the housing. if you remove the valve from the bottom then, yes, the plunger will come with it... just seems to be the long way around.. and maybe more costly. on the back of the pedal is a roller, make sure it rolls..... with the valve removed there should be a rubber boot connected to the plunger which then fits on the lip on the top of the valve, that is what keeps the garbage out.. lightly grease the plunger after a good clean or simply replace all the parts.. your call worth spending the time on to get right, downside of failure could be locked on brakes... 7. Marcel do you have to lean down and pull the pedal up? some air still showing on the application gauge? generally it is the cross pin seizing or the plunger sticking... pin is the most common and can be a pain to get out if the housing is corroded. pin kits have new bushings in nylon we had that issue with our fleet so now it is a dismantle, inspect, clean and lubricate on the 72,000km PM... photo of an MH pedal partially stuck down BC Mack
  8. Great truck... shame Eddie doesn't pay his drivers that well... oh well, that the way of the world right now in trucking... BC Mack
