  5. That deal fell thru.. Give me a shout after Labor Day. 864-677-3453 In the very late 70's / early 80's the Osterman Group of Carlisle PA bought the dies and all the necessary parts and built Built the Diamond REO Giant untiol the mid 90's. They had to add the word Giant to them because Volvo tried to sue them. Osterman also used the air cooled Deutz diesel which had a very sloped down nose.
  6. 1 of 3 ever made.. Used by the DT main office to shuttle customers and dealers to and from the airport, train station, hotels and plant.
  7. Carlotpilot Yes it is a single axle, 220 Cummins, R-96 RR, 4.10 rear on 24.5 rubber. It is the first Diamond T and the 1st tractor owned by Wrangler Blue Jeans.
  8. Ken To add to Mikes correct answer: After White bought both REO and DT in the late 50's they closed the DT plant is Chicago and moved production to the REO plant in Lansing MI. White then built DT's, REO's, and special order heavy duty Whites all on the same line with a mix and match of sheet metal and Badges. On May 1st, 1967 White combined the two makes and created the name Diamond REO.

  10. As mentioned in Other Dog's Pictures of the Week that we should start a Diamond T / Diamond REO thread so here it is: First I will post a link to the Diamond T topic on Just Old Trucks. There are about 30 pages of pictures which will not have to be transfered and the right people will get credit for them. http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/11170/Diamond-T Here are my trucks to start: This is a 1959 model 921 sleeper in my barn;
  11. Welcome to the zoo!!! Mostly Bulldogs with a few Huskies thrown in.. Do not know what to say??? Hang out with this bunch of old truckers and the BS will just flow naturally!!!!

  13. OD the #19 tractor is either a Diamond REO or a very late 64 to 67 Diamond T

  17. Is that the truck owned by the factory to haul the wood cab pieces in??? Think it was at ATHS Syracuse 2003?

  21. Larry You are right about never knowing the real reason behind the "resignation".. And yes it has been an ongoing process which started almost 3 years ago.
  22. Go east from the TA about 1/2 to 3/4 mile.. She has a grey building on the right, driveway between her and what used to be a Texaco convienence store/ fuel stop, then the light for a cross street, go in the driveway thru the pumps and park then come out on the cross street and use the light to make your left to go back to I-95. Used to be an old produce haulers hang out and she had a map on the wall of all the packing sheds in the area. Like I said it has been 5 to 7 years since I hauled containers out of the ports and used to stop there, and the way a lot of the old Mom and Pop places have disappeared it is hard to tell even though she had a good local trade.
