  1. The Canadians and I presume the Pommy's have Boxing Day
  2. Here is a link to an article on the Daily Caller Website which describes the situation USA is in very well:: https://dailycaller.com/2023/12/25/this-christmas-lets-be-thankful-that-american-values-are-more-resilient-than-we-sometimes-fear/
  3. Vlad, It was also great to meet you in person at Macungie that year!!! Hope I can visit with you again..
  4. Paul can probably confirm / expand on this.. The northern 2/3rds of the continent winter is never that cold?? 30*F +/- 10*F (American temp).. BUT farming in Australia takes Acres and acres of land!!!!!! The cattle station (Ranch) we visited west of Ayers Rock had over a million acres to run 4000 head of beef..
  5. YES he is!!!!!!!!
  6. Send TJC Transport an email / PM thru his profile picture.. He is a moderator and can answer your question
  7. Also enough frame length to mount a roll back?? Might have shorten it in back of the drive axle?? That Diamond REO you pictured looks about right to convert into a roll back??
  8. It is either an A or E model which would place it about 1950 +/_ a couple years.. some of the other may come closer..
  9. Welcome to the wild and wacky world of Big Mack Trucks.. It is a time honored procedure to go off topic most of the time.. Please enjoy yourself.
  10. When you get up into that weight range Air brakes are much safer and more reliable.. AND easier to service!!!
  11. You have a LOT of research to do before you make any decisions.. I do not know how much a skid steer weighs but it would take a pretty good sized old farm tractor to get above 10,000 lbs.. The Brockway in my top picture was a U-Haul IH chassis (one of their big vans) and power train on 17.5 tires, which is a good size, and long enough, for what I think you are thinking of building?? I took that picture in 2012 at Cortland NY so God only knows where it is now to find and contact the owner!!! Contact the Public Relations office of your state's "Diesel Cops" as to what licence category you will need?? Most states if you are only going to use it to take stuff to shows and DO NOT DO any revenue generating work you may not need a CDL??
  12. That Diamond REO has some good possibilities!!! Do some cab interior measurements, that REO cab may be bigger than a Mack?? Then measure the operators, I am 6'4" / 250 lb and do not fit well in a lot of the older cabs!!That is the REO cab, BUT BUT NOT D/R fenders!! They look homemade?? Diamond T, Diamond Reo, REO and White 2000's all used the same fenders so you should be able to find a correct set. Is it a gas job or diesel??? If it is a gas job and you swap in a diesel, you will probably have to change the rear?? First you must make your choice of engine, the 5.9 and 6.7 Cummins are very good engines, Then determine the engine's operating RPM's and the cruising speed you want, then do the math to come up with a workable rear end ratio.. You may be able to kill 2 birds with one stone by swapping in an air ride single drive axle???? Please keep us posted on you thoughts and progress.
  13. This Is a Brockway sheet metal swap onto an International Harvester U haul Chassis and power train.. He was pulling a 5th wheel camper with it. I thought he did an excellent job and was very proportional size wise.. And here is another that I did NOT like!!!
  14. And it is NOT just on race day!!! Every event that Charlotte Motor Speedway hosts charge "Race Day" prices at the concession stands per Humpy Wheeler's Orders!!!
  15. In the interior pictures, Is that gray thing sticking out of the dash beside the steering column, a controller for electric trailer brakes???
  16. Great!! Never heard that one before???
  17. Better when he and Hunter are in JAIL!!!!!!
  18. We have "Coy-Dogs" here in South Carolina?? Guess the coyotes will cross breed with larger dogs??? The man who rents my pasture land hunts them regularly, especially if he has some new calves coming!!
  19. TJC: I have not been up to Macungie for the last 2 years, BUT they have had it displayed there for 3-5 years previous..
  20. Mech.. I would guess he might need the total length to get it on a trailer to bring home?????
  21. TJC, I think I know the truck you are speaking of.. It is called "UGLY" and has a Jersey personalized plate that says UGLY. Painted all white.. just went thru my Macungie pictures and it apparently was not ugly enough for me to take a picture!!!
  22. In reference to the above posts, You must remember that the two primary qualifications to become a politician at any level from local to national is to be::::1 A LIAR and 2 A THIEF!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Brocky

    Shop Talk

OK!!!! The word residential answers my question of single drive with a lazy lift axle,,
  24. I like the idea of a calendar!!! An all MACK calendar!!! Maybe Barry can contact Richard Hain of the Green Magazine.. Apparently about every 50 years or so the dates on the old calendar match the upcoming year. They produce a calendar each year with pictures of John Deere tractors from the old year that the dates match the new year.. email: info@greenmagazine.com
