  1. Contact Gary Mahan in Basking Ridge NJ or Matt Pfahl in Conn 203-266-6455 Both men are large Mack collectors and restorers and probably give you a good estimate. And may be on the insurance underwriters list of approved appraisers
  2. Put a lid on the opening and you have a cookie jar..
  3. I think it was more of a southern thing.. I remember the late Leroy Gurganus, of Jasper ALA, telling of driving school buses while in high school.
  4. Bub Warren, Diamond T rubber of Amarillo Tex stocks a lot of Mack Rubber pieces and can make anything you have a good pattern for. Phone 806-374-3056 days CT. email: lilyellowbus37@gmail.com

  6. Capt'n I hope you do not mind but I posted a link to your pictures over on the Just Old Trucks website here:: http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/162835/Gerhartss
  7. If you look at history, either local or world wide, you can see the winters in North America have become less severe. Are we still coming out of the ICE age many thousand years ago??? And remember that there must have been jungle on the present Arctic areas for there to be oil under them???
  8. Check with Tony Champion in Rockhampton QLD.. When I was there in August 2015 he had a big sign in the parts room saying he dealt in older Mack parts.. May be listed under Volvo Commercial Vehicles???
  9. You mean that I have to lock the slider after moving the tandems????
  10. Thanks for the pictures!! Looks like a beautiful day and a good turnout..
  11. High speed Black and White film.. Notice the tail rotor is blurred..
  12. I would NOT paint it!!! Today the original Patina is actually more valuable.. Buff and Clear coat or linseed oil?? As for the tires, if it has been stored inside and not weather checked bad they might be OK for a hobby truck?? Just add a flatbed and go truck showing!!!!
  13. Day and Night wrecker service out of Solvay (Syracuse) NY had their black and white paint scheme which had the whole truck divided in quarters and painted alternating squares.
  14. And on I-78 at exit 13 was Johnny's, which I think is now a Pilot, and a mile east of it was Louise's.. I remember when Louise's expanded / remodeled they built the new diner around the old one and then threw the old one out the windows and never shut down or missed a meal..
  15. I got an email from Eddy about 3:30 PM yesterday that said it was all Aaron's fault!!! The site is still not back up at 8 AM this morning??? Eddy must be pulling what hair he has left out..
  16. The front clip looks Diamond T, but the cab must be home grown..
  17. Probably when Aaron got back from the BBQ he threw his rope around it a popped a circuit breaker!!!!
  18. Just got the same this morning???

  21. Harry You may be like me, OUT of room on the website and have to go to one of the picture storage areas to post.. BUT BUT I have NOT figured out how to do that yet!!!! The last pictures I posted I emailed to Jim Hancock and he posted them for me.
  22. Weasel you are a bit younger than me. Our school had contract buses with adult drivers, some of them women, farm girls.. Our fleet was mid 50's R and S model IH's with a couple of Brockways thrown in.
  23. Thanks Seed!!!! Keep'em coming!! I always enjoy Aussie pictures, especially since I saw a few of those trucks in person in 2015..

  25. You may have to go west to find 24" Budd wheels.. They used Budds long before they were common in the East.. Walter and Oshkosh snow plows had 12 and 14 X 24 tires on 10 hole Budd wheels (some offset to track in single rears) in the 50's and 60's in upstate NY.
