  1. Rowdy, Please find a family doctor, preferably one associated with the local hospital that you would be taken to from home.. When a hospital assigns you a family doctor it may not a person you like. Talk to your friends and neighbors as to who they like or dislike.. At age 44-5 the doc doing my DOT physical said to see my family doctor as my blood pressure top number was high. Was in the process of a divorce living in the KW and a Post Office box. Couple of years later "Borrowed" some blood pressure pills from a friend and passed again. A year Later I was flat on my back in the hospital with a STROKE!!!

  9. Probably some "safety conscience" person speced it that way for volunteer firemen to get in and out, and for fire service did not need a large fuel capacity?
  10. Scotty Here is a link to Tom Millard's conversion from a gas 427 CI Continental to a 5.9 Cummins in his 1955 Brockway 155W. Tom is an electrical engineer by trade and a perfectionist restorer. If you search both the Brockway and the Just Old Trucks websites you can find more of his well documented restorations. I also know of a Brockway, with a small wood flatbed, in northeast PA with a Cummins L10 which is running on super single drives. Email me thru here and I can send you a picture and contact info. http://www.brockwaytrucks.org/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4952
  11. All the eastern Matlack trucks had Dayton wheels. Matlack bought out PIE Tank Lines in the later 60's early 70's. Possible they painted PIE Budd wheel trucks Green and yellow????

  17. Both cabs were built by Sheller Globe in Ohio, But there were a lot of differences.. Besides what Green Giant said there was also a difference in the cowl as Brockway was still using the butterfly hood instead of a tilt hood.
  18. I remember seeing those covered wagons with a reefer unit on the PA Pike years ago, Thinking a 4 axle tractor also?? Never found out what they were hauling????
  19. G'Day Harry, Sort of off topic, but in September of 2015 I met Ian and toured his facility. What a fantastic man and place. Here is a link to some pictures of it. Scroll down to the bottom 1/3 of the page. http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/84264/Down-Under-Trip?PageIndex=7
  20. Red Horse, You are right on the Blank Look!!!! The Super Duty name replaced Big Job in 1958 with the introduction of the 401,477, and 534 Built for trucks engines.

  24. Agree, but at least that yellow one does NOT have the "Devil's Horns" spot mirrors sticking out of the middle of the hood.
  25. James, before the White buyout (1958) Diamond T used the IH Comfovision cab, like shown in the above picture. After that they used both the REO cab for vocational use and the Autocar cab for over the road trucks. After 1960 All Diamond T, REO and some special order HD Whites were built at the REO plant in Lansing Mich. Three identical trucks could come down the assembly line and drive out the door as three different makes!! On May 1st, 1967 White motor combined DT and REO and created the name Diamond REO.
