  1. FWD The fire truck man is Gerald Burns, shop address is Palatine Ark and he lives nearby. About 12-15 years ago I saw his garage door open and parked on the shoulder and climbed the fence, Spent about an hour visiting with him. I cannot remember his email address, as I lost it in a puter crash, but part of it is roundengineman@??? He also has a 41 Ford / Buffalo that was stationed at Stewart Field in Newburg NY during the war. and the day I was there he was restoring an 30's Ahrens Fox for someone. Do you have a member listing for the fire truck club? Am pretty sure he is a member.. Hope this helps
  2. Yours are prolly for landscaping, But the ones I hauled were to Wrangler Laundry's for "stone washed" Blue Jeans..
  3. I have stopped at the place in your first old trucks picture.Exit 233 Palatine Ark. A neat guy and has several more vehicles in his buildings, ex crop duster pilot and mechanic, has a 49 Ford F-1 which his parents brought him home for the hospital in as a newborn.. Several firetrucks
  4. If it is designed to go over the side of a bridge, Where are the outriggers???
  5. Neat Place!!! At least, other than the stacks, it looks like he did not ruin the EF.. @ Diamond T's!! What chassis is under the Diamond T with regular headlights?? Ford F-600??? The other one it is hard to tell?? What would those headlights been of from???

  11. Swishy, I am saving my pennies!!! Ron Kirk has already told me he can get me a ride.. The Hume was one of the things left out of our ATHS Down Under tour.. Even if we just took a bus down the old road..
  12. A target for the 4 wheelers to aim at and hit!!!
  13. There are more pictures and links to news articles here on pages 4 & 5. https://www.hcvc.com.au/forum/events/15950-haulin-the-hume-2017?start=30
  14. NO!! This truck is either a 1959 or 1960. Ford used the same grill both years. The name Super Duty replaced name Big Job in 1958 with the introduction of the made for truck 477 and 534 engines.
  15. Here is a link to a you tube video of this years "Haulin the Hume" this past weekend. The Hume Highway was the main freight highway from Sydney to Melbourne Australia (about 500 miles) and to the Aussies has a similar historic relevance as our Route 66 has to us Americans. It is now a 4 lane interstate but this event uses as much of the old 2 lane road as possible. The promoters of this event have split the Hume in half and run half way each year alternating starting points. This event / convoy / reenactment has become so popular that they have to limit it to about 250 vehicles. If you search You tube for Haulin the Hume you can come up with videos of previous years.
  16. Fantastic!! One of the best looking Ford's ever built... Would like to have it today..
  17. Paul. Up in that area east of Lake Ontario they average 250+ inches per winter from Labor Day to Memorial Day.. Thus the comment of "9 months of winter and 3 months of damn poor skiing"!!!
  18. Tom You have to be fluent in New England also as the Aussies drop their "R"'s also!!! the city of Cairnes is pronounced Cans..
  19. Aussie???? Not sure?? You can see the steering wheel in the left windshield... Tom, we were both typing at the same time!!
  20. Dave, Is Kieth getting more into the trucks than the farm tractors??? That is a fantastic unit.. Guess I will have to get back up to see you again soon.. Say hello to Suzie!!!

  24. Here are a couple of pictures I took of this truck in Alice Springs. one on the show grounds and the other in the parade.
  25. DD: Thank you.. Yes, that was his name, Charlie... It is amazing how this old truck hobby shows us how small the world is.. I live in SC and Last year at the Arden NC show I met a man now living in eastern Tenn, also from upstate NY, and we figured out that our fathers bowled on the same team in the early 50's!!
