  1. Tom Thank the Lord you are OK.. Sure am glad to see you posting.. I guess I am an old "worry wort" and know how thing can happen without the word being passed to friends..
  2. An inexperienced, usually younger, show off type driver with the attitude that he knows it all.
  3. Sorry to hear about that fire.. Over on PlowSite.com they have blamed several Hgwy Dept shop fires on chaffed / rubbed thru battery cables on plow equipment.
  4. BD Man Thank you for making the call..Glad to hear it was not something "Super Serious"!!! Sounds like his trip to the dentist was worse than being in a truck stop surrounded by Steering Wheel holders..
  5. Welcome to the DOGHOUSE!!! From that angle it looks like an A model produced from about 1950 to 1954.. If it is just that size you are looking for there are probably more B ('55 to '70) and R ('65 to '80) models and parts available. Power options will depend on how far from home you want to go and how fast you want to get there.. The old gas jobs usually only top out at 50 MPH!! Next is what are your restoration / Refurbrushment skills?? It is almost always cheaper to buy one already reworked and roadworthy rather than do a resto job.. Keep your eyes peeled here in the for sale section, Classified ads in Wheels of Time and Vintage Truck magazines, both of which are available at Tractor Supply, Fleabay, Craigs list, Truck Paper, and the other sale listings sites. It will also help if finish you profile so we know where you are?? That way the word of mouth on here will also help.
  6. We did not hear from him all weekend?? No pictures of the week?? Kidnapped by Winfall Wimmin?? My prayers are in hopes he is OK??
  7. Paul Please feel free to ask any questions about the US. Between here and Just Old Trucks we sure ask enough about OZ..
  8. Now you have me thinking?? (smell the smoke??) My 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 came from the factory with aluminum on the outside and steel inside rims.. Wonder if they put anything between them?? Guess I will have to pull a wheel and find out??
  9. Terry I know he has been, met him at Springfield Mass. But last I saw him he was trying to put Mack decals on the big silver bird in hopes it would get him home..
  10. Looks neat!!! What is the yellow beast in the shop????
  11. Basically to Alice Springs for the Truckers Reunion Show< But have several tourist stops on also.
  12. Thanks for all the pictures of your trip... We are looking forward to our Aussie trip in August.
  13. Must be some of these "steering wheeel holders" have figured out how to disengage the PTO without hitting the down button!!!
  14. You are caught http://s1095.photobucket.com/user/grenfell34/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_2228_zpse50b07a0.jpg.html
  15. Paul I understand you attended at truck show in Allora Queensland this past weekend!! The Internet sure has shrunk the world.. Ron Grenfell posted you on the Just Old Trucks website and said the two of you raked me over the coals!!! The travel agent said she would have a better list of activities by late March..Not sure about the ride?? BUT will definately plan on meeting you for a couple of VB's!!! Will have to see how the stars align!!
  16. S tupid W oman I n F irst T ruck
  17. But how does he explain it to his wife when he gets home????
  18. I passed a UPS tractor on LNG on I-81 going to Winchester last fall.. He definately was getting paid by the hour as it was seriously holding up traffic on every grade!!
  19. I have also read that Brockway made some "Modifications" to the F model when they used it for the 457/459 COE's, But I cannot remember exactly what they were.. It is somewhere on the brockwaytrucks.org site..
  20. Kframdiesel I just sent you a PM about the Orange Rollback
  21. Let me see if I can find out who owns the roll back
  22. Ken I am an "El Cheapo"!!! Have rooms in the Econolodge!! Hope Tom brings the Winfall Wimmin for the Nooner!!!
  23. Not to defend ATHS, But the thinking behind the charge to sleep is to cover the additional facilities rental cost to include the use of the showers.. AND Johnson as usual went way overboard!!! The non fueling price of a shower at a truck stop is only in the $10 range. Board member Rick Knox brought this up last year, but did not get anywhere in lowering it.. Maybe with the new management AND if you could get enough people to complain to their RVP it could get changed by 2016.
  24. This was at the 2012 Cherokee NC show.. I can not remember if this is a repower or a sheet metal transplant.. Possibly I can find out??
  25. Ken and Larry If you need Mike's email addy PM or email me as I have it
