  2. Mark Was that wicked H model a chassis for a Colonial mixer??
  3. Mark That B Model is owned by James Suttles an ex Matlack fleet owner operator, originally from Greenville SC and Later in Demopolis AL Was the picture of the R model fleet taken at their terminal on Rt 322 in Swedesboro NJ?. Brocky
  4. Joe Did McBride also have some Brockways?? In the same milk tanker field was Dairyman's League who also ran a mixed fleet of B model Macks with their Brockways.
  5. Another trick is to put a bottle jack under the breaker bar and add some truck weight to it and leave it sit that way as the solvent mixture in the cylinders works.
  6. BullHusk Ref: Want an Autocar?? Email me at brocky45@prtcnet.com I may know of one in your area Brocky
  7. I am 40 mile south of Greenville SC. Got about 6 inches of snow and sleet yesterday ( Wednesday) here are a couple of pictures of the state road (Yankee level =major county road) in front of my house taken at Noon on Thursday. Our highway department is operated by Mother Nature!! She put it there she will take it away!!
  8. I am thinking the New England Motor Frt terminal in Leighton PA had a B model painted with the stars and Stripes??? Saw it a ATHS Syracuse 2003 or Macungie of the same era??
  9. Sorry, No pictures. I was born and raised in Brockway country. Drove a mid 60's B-70, 707, quadplex, S/A dump with a V plow and wing a few times but was not my regular truck. The first Mack I drove for any amount of time was a 1970 Matlack R-600 237 maxidyne with the 5 speed.
  10. Mark Your picture in the earlier post is definitely of an early 50's Fageol - Twin Coach tractor confirmed by Jeff the What Am I guy on Just Old Trucks. If you look at the picture of the moving vans close you will see some of the inset windshields. Here is a picture of the Denver Chicago one from the mid 50's. Yes Fageol did use IH running gear in most of them.
  11. Mark Fagoel did make a COE on the IH chassis for D-C trucking in the 50's with the 549 Gas burner in it. I do not have a picture in my collection to post of it. The picture you posted is not one of them due to the recessed windshield tops and door hinges being too far forward. But it still might have some Fagoel origins???
  12. AS stated above it is a lot of seperate things all taken together. In my case I just sold both of my big trucks as my children do not have the space to store them (zoning laws) or the ability to operate them as their education has sent them in other directions. Definitely the cost of fuel, food, and motels has limited the participation at large shows, or further away shows, by many of us on retirement incomes. As well as the costs of presenting as show. Our local ATHS chapter is piggybacking with the local farm tractor clubs, to create a combined show, as it spreads out the cost and involves more people for the volunteer work necessary to put on a show.
  13. Vlad Quite possible.. Don Chew in Colorado has a 1917 FWD painted and dresses as a military vehicle which he shows as well as taking it on the 2009 reenactment of Eisenhower's 1919 cross county convoy.
  14. Here is your DM mudder!!
  15. Somehow I am thinking the military (Air Force) replaced the swing fender D-800 Dodge fuel trucks with the DM Mack????
  16. Bullhusk Thanks for the kind words about Horwith. In 1978 I drove the first Freightliner father Frank sold, to Lamar Haas, in Dec 1977 after Brockway and DR went out. Always had a good relationship with their shop. Brocky
  17. My wife and I will be down under late August and early Sept of 2015 as part of the ATHS tour to the Alice SpringsReunion and some other collections in Melbourne. Hope to be able to see you then. Brocky
  18. And Dan Schaeffer from Ohio is ready to back him up!!!
  19. Joe Ditchkus is ready!!! Even if it is August in Cortland NY
  20. If Green Giant is from northeast PA He probably does!!!
  21. I think it was the White 3000 (1949-1950??) with an electric screw jack lift, but the Diamond T low cab forward with a spring loaded counter balanced manual lift designed by the Murty Bros (1952??) was a close second. My Diamond T 921 sleeper has the same lift and I can tilt it by myself.
  22. In reference to the REO cabs: When White Motor bought REO and DT in 58 & 59 it ended the DT association with IH and the Comfovision cab. In 1969 the production was combined in the REO plant Lansing Mich using the REO cab as standard with an option of the Autocar cab. By about 1965 the Autocar cab became the standard for road tractors and the REO cab continued for vocational work. The Diamond REO name was created on May 1st, 1967 and used both cabs a described before.
  23. Roselawn IN?? Yep!! Been there a few times back in my young and crazy years!!!
  24. R686 Am not going to try and keep up with you, Average 90 MPH??? Will be coming up 81 on Wednesday.
  25. The one on I-84 NY/CT line was the Colonial. Neither it or Mass 10 are NO LOSS!!!! Is Stop 1 on the west side of Richmond IN still there??? The basic problem is that this "new breed" of driver thinks Burger King and McDonalds are restraunts!!!!
