  1. Looks great! The gold dog goes well with the red, white, and blue on the hood. You can't beat a small town parade. Nothing overdone and no lip-synching, just real people.
  2. I was wondering the same thing. I guess controlling the heat using shutters is probably out of the question.
  3. She prolly would've accepted his assistance but after seeing what he was driving decided that he needs help a lot more than she does.
  4. Depending upon your age, there may be a time in your career when an R model will not be practical to run as a daily driver. It's hard to imagine but parts will eventually become harder to find and of course, more expensive. Might as well enjoy it while you can.
  5. That certainly puts things in perspective.
  6. To sum it up in one word: holycowthatishuge! I don't see the NTA-370 on this list. They might have "borrowed" a model number from a model with a similar engine. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/32840-found-a-1968-f-model/page-2
  7. I'm not sure if there is an extra support running lengthwise above the kingpin, but it seems like a good idea. I'd say just stick the hose in there, cover your face, and be prepared to run.
  8. Life was so much simpler then.
  9. Thanks for sharing your photos. It seems that a proud Mack owner/driver can be found in every corner of the world!
  10. I thought the R in MR was for refuse And the C in MC was for a different application. Maybe I'm just confusing this with the dump/mixer designation for the DM.....
  11. A Mack would've at least gotten you to the Pizza Hut a safer place to park. Hopefully the boss will put you in something else so you can get back to taking pictures making money.
  12. I would've thought Father's Day cards would be in huge demand.......
  13. I've never seen a side dump in action. That, along with the mountains in the background, makes for some cool photos.
  14. So this is the 8th of all DM800's and not DM867's? Pretty neat either way. It's also interesting how quickly they became popular in the model's infancy.
  15. Set it and.......forget it!
  16. Thanks for the excellent coverage.
  17. Nice size for a driver that doesn't want to go to the store everyday. At my previous job we had some Visions with 48" flat top sleepers. The boss didn't allow riders so the passenger seats were removed and replaced with refrigerators. They were in cabinets with butcher block tops and microwaves were installed under the bunk. An excellent use of space in a relatively small cab.
  18. The Colander of Truth! Thank goodness I sleep during the day or else that would cause me to have nightmares.
  19. I'll be in touch after the first of the month.
  20. Nothing in particular, just browsing through one of the family photo albums. The sad truth. This is the first pic I've posted on here that caused me to throw up in my mouth more than once.
  21. Well, that makes sense. The sad part is that I figured the second L in LTL was a designation for light components, but couldn't make the connection between H and heavy.
  22. The copy of the e-mail from Don Schumaker , posted by 1958FWD, should be framed and hung on a wall in the homes of all BMT members, or at least added to the Wiki.
  23. Good to see the V8 F model make it's first appearance. It looks like a neat show with all the various types of equipment, I like the early R model and the green LTH. What's the difference between an LTH and an LTL?
