  1. Is that Mrs. B or Aunt Jemima? I'm gonna check next time at the grocery store to see if the PC Police have pressured the makers into making some modifications to their characters. Some people still have a sense of humor:
  2. It seems that when the standard gauges that are normally in the cluster with the speedo and tach cannot fit (because of the tachographs) it's those gauges that are moved to the right and angled. Could we actually be making progress here? As Bob said, there was a specific name for this. I knew it then but it has since found it's way into the black hole of my memory and is not likely to ever be recovered.
  3. Sorry to hear of your troubles. I'm a highway driver, but I'm sure I could've made it through the day with only half that amount of stuff getting destroyed. ..only to end up right where you started.
  4. Happy Easter! It'll be just the the Wife, kids, and myself sitting down to a nice dinner at home AT THE SAME TIME.
  5. I'm not sure what would interest you but Nashville seems like a good place to spend some spare time you might have. I'm not a huge fan of Country music but I think I'd enjoy myself there. It doesn't appear to be more than 1" from Antioch, according to the map. http://www.visitmusiccity.com/indexfull.php
  6. Welcome, that is a very nice truck. Simard Suspension also did a great job in making the second steer axle look as if it came from the factory. I was skeptical about automatic/automated transmissions and the first time I drove an Eaton UltraShift i was convinced that trucks were meant to have manual tranmissions. Then I had the pleasure of doing some local work with a 6 speed Allison behind a 380 hp MaxiCruise and did not want to give it up. I was doing p&d work at the time which involved plenty of stop, go, and backing in hilly terrain at various weights and the tranny performed flawlessly. It's also good to see a another fleet whose owners are loyal Mack users.
  7. He never said it was a U model. Sorry kid, I think I'm gettin' an ass-whooping for my comment above so I figgered a little sucking up might work to my advantage.
  8. What the #$@!, I take a few days off and all the big "dogs" get a year older! What I meant was Happy Birthday! Belated of course.
  9. I think you're a closet fan of the leaning tower of Allentown. That's okay, your secret is safe with me.
  10. I've always felt that same way until now. This is just too much to stomach. I was 13 when we pulled out of Vietnam but when I was younger, it was assumed that you either went to college or the armed forces for a few years. The more I understood about our role there, the less sense it made.
  11. Very nice B model, good luck with it. As for the Superliner....WOOF!
  12. An N model nust be rare enough these days, let alone one with an air shift. Here's a page from a brochure. And here's the rest of it. http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_brochures/mack/mack_n-40_1958/
  13. I don't know which is harder to get used to: the right hand drive or a "New Zengland" accent.
  14. The one where my Dad worked had the "telltale" and clock for both the speedometer and the tach. That would not leave enough room for the other gauges. Notice how the one on OMT (beautiful btw) has the standard speedo and tach with the rest of the gauge holes blacked out since they are to the right.
  15. 342 views, 28 replies, and the only like is from a 12 year old. Our work here is done.
  16. What'up Dawg. Sorry I missed the big day. I took a few days off with those people that live in my house. Hope you had a good day and I'm glad to see you got yourself a mixer that gets decent fuel mileage with minimal emissions. Gotta save the world, don't cha know. That's nice, but I'd rather see this slice of deliciousness captured in a photograph:
  17. BMT is like incest, It's all related.
  18. Paccars are still better than a lot of trucks out there today. Yeah tell me about it. 2" more and I would have led an entirely different life. We've all gotten into situations that took a little help to get out of. We eventually live them down because the solution didn't include names such as "Rob" or "Mack", for example.
  19. Only the author and a moderator can delete a post. If you would like to delete one of mine, you will need to produce a petition with a minimum of 500 names and a notarized letter stating your reasons for the deletion at which time I will....most likely do nothing. One more thing, Look at the bottom of your posts, next to REPORT.
  20. From what I've seen on this site, the man obviously has both looks and brains, the total package, so to speak. Your antics on the other hand, have setback light years the opinion of PACCAR products on this website. You and Otherdog had better watch each others backs because it's no longer safe for you here. That aside, it's good to here you were able to get up and running with minimal delay and got to rub shoulders with our ehxalted ruler in the process.
  21. Probably not the worst ride they've taken either.
  22. I thought there might have been a specific name for the package but that was back in the early 70's . I'd assume it was an upgrade because there appears to be a few more gauges than on the typical dash,
