  1. My mom passed away when I was 2 and I have no memory of her. Fortunately there were plenty of pictures taken and I also have a cassette ( and now a cd) of her voice. The tape was one of a handful that my family made and sent to my Aunt and Uncle when my Uncle was stationed in Japan. I didn't know these tapes existed until I visited my Aunt in CA when I was around 25. She played it for me and had no idea I was listening to my own Mothers voice. I flat out lost it when she told me. The point I'm trying to make here is you do whatever ya gotta do to keep the memories alive.
  2. Welcome!
  3. Unless I'm mistaken, the MC/MR has been using that cab since it's intro in 1978. It's giving the R series a run for it's money.
  4. "Best part of breaking up is when you're making up"- The Ronettes, 1964
  5. Looks like they might have trimmed the top piece and flipped it upside down?? Seems like the cheapest way out since there was such a limited production run.
  6. In all fairness, look at what you were up against.
  7. Hanging out at a dealer service department seems like a good place to get specifics from other owners as to what problems they are having. And you know the answers won't be sugar coated either. Hopefully there will be a time in the future when things will fall into place you can give it another shot, if you choose. Your talents need a showcase! At least you will know what to expect since over-priced health insurance and deadbeat losers will likely be with us until the end of time.
  8. Could be wrong, but I was thinking those were just stickers and the engine pre-dated the use of that logo.
  9. They do seem a bit lower than a traditional MH, but I guess this was the best option to compensate for the additional height
  10. History can attest to that.
  11. Hopefully that driver is one of a dying breed these days that still holds themselves accountable for their own actions.
  12. Nice! I'm from the east myself and never knew of these until now. Thanks for the additional photos and info.
  13. Very sorry to hear of your friend's passing. Is the cased officially closed on the accident or is there still a chance that guy could try to pin it on you?
  14. Best wishes for a speedy recovery from your injuries. Don't eat that! Something tells me the can might say ALPO on the back!
  15. That engine was the result of a joint venture between Detroit Diesel and Caterpillar. Dubbed the "Leaking Pussy", the idea was scrapped when it was learned that 2 strokes was not enough to stimulate any measurable amount of combustion.
  16. Purely coincidental, I'm sure. Hi Mike. Glad to hear you are doing well.
  17. Better days are coming. Looks like the lows in the Pittsburgh area are going to be above freezing all next week. That was nice of Carter Lumber to unload your trailer and store the refused load until you can go back for it. There are still some decent receivers out there.
  18. How's Mike doing? He looks healthier with a few pounds on him since the last picture you posted while he was visiting. Neat little KW, too.
  19. That's quite a rare find. A Weinermobile on the snow that wasn't wrecked.
  20. Kudos to you and Underdog for keeping a bad situation from getting worse. It's a very unsettling experience being "along for the ride" but for the 2 of you to manage to not only keep it upright but to keep the vehicle and freight from being damaged speaks volumes for your experience.
  21. Happy Birthday, Buddy! Old is when you have to keep a nitro pill handy when browsing BMT and just looking at the pictures.
  22. Nice! Just don't forget about us little people that provided moral support during your humble beginnings, or something like that.
  23. Way to go Vinny! You gotta watch some of these guys, they like to spread vicious rumors!
  24. The lighter color looks similar to the tan cab interior paint for '73-'74 while the darker looks like what was used on the interior for the '75 & up tan dash models.
