  1. Well, somebody's gotta do it, and he's got the perfect truck for the job Ben
  2. We sure are glad to have ya along on this here run to kick @$$ dontcha know?- convoy quote of the day haha. But anyway welcome to the forum. I'm Ben and I share this account with my dad, Tim. We're total mack fans and are obsessed with anything with two strokes. BTW I love your trucks they're all pretty sweet. Hope you can find yourself at home in this wonderful online community we call BMT, and we'll all be more than happy to help you out with any of your Mack restoration needs Ben P.S. watch out for my Cousin Vinny, he lives a little to the left side of the straight and narrow
  3. Oh, haha, I didn't see that post. That just popped into my head a little while ago and I went and found a pic real quick. Ben
  4. Just drop one of these under the hood and you'll be good to go: Ben
  5. They were sober from '53 to '65 Ben
  6. That's awesome. I would love to custom build one in real life just to freak people out at shows. Ben
  7. That's really cool! I'm getting a sticker with my famous "Go Green" design to put in the back window of our international so that everybody knows it's us, and for prius drivers to appreciate Ben
  8. Oh that's cool. Sounds like the kinda guy I'd like to meet. Ben
  9. Yea, that's a 4-53 in that chevy. There's a lot of pickups with 53 series out there. When I build my sister's truck, it'll probably end up with the 3-53 I have and a GM TH400 behind it. Ben
  10. Well, I think those pictures are alright. I think that runaway ramp would make a good monster truck jump if you ask me. Ben
  11. Yep. I'm lost when it comes to 4 strokes, especially those fancy new-fangled electronic controlled ones. But as 84superdog said, my man staxx can take care of business very well in that field Ben
  12. Looks great. I too can't wait to see all put back together. Good job so far Ben
  13. Well just so you guys know, my pickup is gonna be on a medium duty chassis (from and international 26 foot box truck, or a school bus) with cement mixer transfer case/axles with a custom crewcab and 9 foot bed. I'm definately putting the 8V71 in it for sure. The only thing that is still not a definate in my plan is what tranny I'm gonna use. I'd really like to have an allison, but if worse comes to worse, I know where I can get a cheap 13 speed roadranger. But the truck will be quite far from being a "one ton" for sure. But on a different note, I think we'll end up using the MT643 behind the 4-71 and drop it in the B60 because my dad is starting to dislike the old scania motor. Oh and thanks guys for all your wise words Ben
  14. Yea, but look at weight. An 8V92TA weighs at least 1000 pounds less than an E9, which sounds like a benifit to me. Ben
  15. can an Allison MT643 really handle? There's one for sale near me extremely cheap and I think if we get a chance we'll probably go pick it up. I was just wondering if you guys think it would be okay behind my 318 Detroit? My pickup truck will only end up weighing about 12,000 pounds when it's done so it won't have that much load on it. But if it can't handle the 8V71, we'll just put it behind the 4-71 in the B60. But I'd really like to use it in my pickup truck if I can, so tell me what you guys think. Ben
  16. Pretty good. We figured out that the starter is bad so we have to fix that and the brakes need work too but otherwise it's pretty good. We went to an auction yesterday at the old garage where we bought it, and we bought the rest of the emblems that were missing from the hood, which was good. Ben
  17. Yea, and a 738 CID 8V92TA is making the same horsepower as the 998 CID E9. Now what's that tell ya????? Ben
  18. Sweet! I like the idea of the Roadranger and newer rearend. Looks like you're making good progress too. Make sure you keep posting updates on the project. And good luck with it Ben
  19. Yea, I hope your nana gets well soon. Tell her that all of us here on BMT are thinking of her and send her our best wishes On a different note, those DMM's are SICK. I've always wanted one of them to make a rollback or a wrecker out of. Cousin Ben
  20. Wow! You did a fantastic job! I sure hope the cab on our B60 will look as good as that But nice job on your paint. Keep up the good work Ben
  21. Well that's about the nicest 283 that I've seen. I'm used to seeing 350, 383, and 400's all decked out like that. Most 283's look stock. But nice job on the motor Ben
  22. So this one must be valuable: Ben
  23. Sweet old Mack's, I hope that nannas making a speedy recovery. Tim
  24. Wait, wait, wait. I got an idea. How bout yanking that kitten outta there and dropping a perfectly good ole Detroit Diesel in where it came out from. Ben
