  1. Haha, I'll be there! I hope to see some of the BMT guys too. Ben
  2. That's awesome. I bet this guy got a pretty long sentence though. Ben
  3. Yep. I was there. Thats is the pic from the Watts Mack website. Ben
  4. Here's the Pete: I think it's pretty cool for a peterbilt. Ben
  5. Hey, It's the "Cadillac Mack". That's what Richard calls it. I think it's pretty neat, definately unique. I like his 8V92-powered Pete Cabover. Ben
  6. That truck belongs to Richard from Export Fuel, across the street from my shop. He also had a b61 wrecker and a stretched Detroit powered cabover Pete at that show. Ben and I were digging the 12V71 powered triaxle dump that was there Tim
  7. There goes my dad again. Always biased to Chevy gasoline engines. He would put a Big Block Chevy in anything, wouldn't you Dad? I wouldnt put one in anything but maybe a go cart. A Two-Stroke Detroit on the other hand, I would put in anything in the world. They're awesome. I would take a 427 over a 3208 though. The 427 will spin twice as fast as the kitten would and sound wayyy better. With open headers, it could almost sound as good as a Detroit. But not quite. Ben
  8. Where? You would need a really big hood for that. Ben
  9. The girl sitting on my lap said cool story. Ben
  10. That's awesome. Ben
  11. Alright guys, I'm back from camp. I missed you guys. Please fill me in on anything I should see. Ben
  12. Mark, that was an awesome story! Kinda brought a tear to my eye to think of how something so simple made such a difference to a good friend. Not having the money for transportation and a penchant to buy old Junkers for demo derby has led me to drive quite a few scary trips home in 50 or 100 dollar cars. Thanks for sharing the memories Tim
  13. Oil dripping and smoke blowing is just a byproduct of extreme power. Seriously, though, I'd swap a big block Chevy for the following reasons: 1) cheap. Running, driving ones under a thousand, super bad ones around five k 2) light. Around 700 pounds fully dressed, about half of that Wisconsin motor of yours or a third of that yellow one. 3 reliable. Every auto parts store on earth has just about any part youd need 4) cool. Hank out that thrifty six and drop in a tall deck 427 with headers and twice pipes and the ladies will come running! (unless Ben and I are there with a Detroit). 5) available. Every school bus from GM came with a 366 or 427/454 and can be had for peanuts, complete with all of the necessary brackets, mounts, and SAE bell housing adaptors. Be careful, though, I'm told that there was purported to be a diesel version available that had 4 strokes ( gasp!) and masqueraded as a Detroit , but I can neither confirm or deny. Just trying to help, Tim Oh yeah, on the Hey Yarnall thing, I'm glad that you got that b70 from Macungie, I think that you'll give it a good home.
  14. I bet a Detroit would get much better mileage and not leak coolant anywhere! Well maybe oil, but surely no coolant. Tim
  15. Who's going and what are you taking? I have to see what is running and driving by then, the past couple of years I took my incomplete 48 ford rat rod pickup, my complete 41 Cadillac rat rod, I think that I took my 73 caprice convertible one year as well. Hopefully I'll have a road tractor project completed by then. Tim

    Vin:

Vinny is just fine, we met a Macungie and he was a normal 12 year old kid. Don't mistake his "aw shucks" attitude towards girls as something other than just being a kid. As with my own kids, I'd much rather see him obsessed by a project that he's doing with his papa than any of the alternatives. I sure hope that the antics on this site haven't soured the Vinster on posting here, I really enjoyed his bright eyed outlook on stuff here. Tim
  17. Hey guys, thanks for seeing my side of things. I'm not trying to shelter Ben, I just wanted to remind folks that he and Vinny are still kids. I am very fortunate to have a great relationship with my son. I am also very fortunate that he absolutely loves Mack trucks and Detroits rather than ricers and designer drugs. This site is a huge influence on him and a very positive one at that. The humor, sometimes off color, is excellent! The humor about lawn boys and kickstands is awesome, the kind of ribbing that makes us all forget the days woes. Ben is away at Boy Scout camp for a week so he will probably be offline. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing everyone at Watts show in August! Tim
  18. Hey I don't mean to crash the party here, but I will say that we should try to keep it cool. I personally didn't see whatever was posted in the VIP Lounge (my dad instructed me to avoid that area and I did) but he said it wasn't cool. I love all the joking, messing around and sarcasm here, it's my favorite part of the site, but I'd like to try to keep it clean so that nobody gets in trouble. Especially me. My dad is pretty strict about what's appropriate and what's not (as he should be) and I don't want to give him something to worry about. What happened here was partially my fault because I posted the picture in the first place, so I'm not blaming you guys at all, and from now on, you probably won't see me post any pictures of my friends on here. What I'm saying is: the joking around is fun, but from what my dad said and from what I observed here, it got a little out of hand, so in the future, we should try to act as though we're civilized human beings. I hope there is no hard feelings between anybody and we can all continue to have a good time here on my favorite websiite. Ben
  19. Heck yea! Ben
  20. Yep. This time I asked first and it worked. She posted a picture of me without my hat on Facebook (I look stupid) so I said, "Since you posted a picture of me on facebook, I should get to post a picture of you on BMT" and she said okay. So there it is. Ben
  21. Absolutely. I love EMD's, they're awesome. The 645 series is probably my favorite. I really like Cleveland Diesel's too. They are smaller than EMD's but bigger than Detroits. There's one in a generator out here that's a 3-268. It's pretty awesome. Ben
  22. I want all that stuff life-sized. Ben
  23. I do believe that that is a scale model nirvana. However, there is a conspicuous lack of Detroit powered B models there, I wonder what gives? Tim
  24. Yep, and I'm going to hang out with about 15 of them at our local ag fair tonight. And they're all in 4-H. Ben
  25. I was with her last night too. We had this slushy-type shaved ice drink and it was called (no joke) "Sex on the Beach" and it was really good. It was kinda like pink lemonade and rasberry flavored. But it was funny when my buddy came up to us and said " watcha doin'?" and I was like "Well, we're enjoying some "Sex on the Beach" But seriously, me and her are really in the "Friend Zone". I've known her for like 5 years. She just really likes messing with me. No real "relationship" there. But she does hang out with me more than she hangs out with her boyfriend. She's a lot fun to be around. Ben
