  1. "If the last time you saw your wife's boobs was at a Kiss concert..."
  2. That would tend to suggest they are the "universal" type, not permanent magnet type. Good to know.
  3. Axle moving on the end of the spring?
  4. I know that ceramic coatings on race car headers keep the heat inside the tubes and out of the engine compartment. Should help a turbo put out more boost.
  5. I am trying to remember back when I was studying electricity and electronics (before I decided that was not for me). I believe, if a motor uses PERMANENT MAGNETS, it is polarity sensitive, meaning it will reverse if the polarity of the inputs are swapped. But, if a motor uses a STATOR WINDING to create the magnetic field, it is NOT polarity sensitive, and will run in the same direction regardless of input polarity. To reverse those, I think you have to reverse EITHER the armature voltage OR the field voltage. But, don't quote me on that. It has been 45 years since I thought about it. I'd say wire one up on the bench and find out.
  6. I’ve been thinking about this. I’m not sure that I remember this correctly. Maybe you should ignore me!
  7. Yeah, I think they had moved the leads from the starter case to the solenoid and vice-versa. See the clip from an old wiring diagram.
  8. I'm pretty sure the leads were swapped on my R when they switched it from pos. ground to neg. ground.
  9. If you can spit farther than you can walk...
  10. If your lawn mower has more than 3 cupholders...
  11. I believe in both...depending n the situation. Let the truck tell you what it wants.
  12. Don't have to convince me of why you took out an automatic and put in a manual. Made perfect sense to me!
  13. "If a Ford vs. Chevy argument ended your first marriage..."
  14. "If you've reached an out-of-court settlement with an all-you-can-eat buffet..."
  15. Hey, Tony! Good to hear from you!
  16. Yeah, it was sad that Dave left us. I used some of his parts from time to time, and had plans to do a lot more with them. He was always very helpful and knowledgeable. I doubt we'll ever have another outfit quite like either of those again.
  17. Since AITM is gone, I doubt I'll ever be able to get anything like they produced ever again. They had some awesome bits and pieces.
  18. Enjoy the rattle!!!
  19. Some systems used an actual anti-compounding valve. The porting between the service brakes and the exhaust side of the parking brake does the same thing with no extra parts. Pretty clever design.
  20. It’s actually a very simple system. Not absolutely necessary, of course. Yes, you can work around it.
  21. That small line may be the anti-compounding setup. If it is, it applies pressure to the release side of the parking brakes through the exhaust side of the parking brake valve whenever the foot brake is applied.
  22. I think you are all over this!
  23. I wonder if you can back the internal adjustment of the clutch all the way “off” dust to see if the problem persists. Still sounds like something dragging internally.
  24. The only other thing I can think of is a bad pilot bearing. But the intermediate plate would be my first guess. And that’s all it is…a guess!
