  1. I drink bourbon. But if I want a beer, I usually get a Miller Lite. I’m starting to sound like a redneck version of the Dos Equis guy! “I don’t always drink beer, but when I do…” LOL!
  2. I think one is definitely a bit more sophisticated than the other...
  3. If you killed a deer on your honeymoon...but your husband didn't...
  4. If any of your wedding gifts required ammunition...
  5. Not a problem. Even a good mechanic, if he’s smart, will sometimes ask for opinions before tearing into something. You never know when someone will have the exact knowledge you need. I’m glad he got it smoothed out. And, yes, I believe he may have been into one or two before!
  6. If you've ever stirred your coffee with a screwdriver...
  7. That engine should NOT be governed at that RPM. It should turn up to 2,100 or so. There is definitely something amiss there. I'm sure one of the gurus here will be able to help. And, again, I sure miss Glenn. He could tell you in half a heartbeat what it needed.
  8. Did anybody get this one from "Super Troopers"?
  9. "If you've ever high-fived someone from a moving vehicle..."
  10. Any updates or more information?
  11. Ethanol-added fuel also makes a carb act "lean". Can require re-jetting. Non-ethanol fuel can take that piece out of the puzzle pretty easily, though.
  12. Seems like he had a pretty sweet setup. Got to use the shop he worked in for his projects after the customers' stuff was finished. Pretty sweet setup indeed.
  13. The other day, I had an old man tear the front bumper cover off my little Toyota 'round-town truck. I was going through the parking lot of our local Ingle's market, passing the entrance to the Burger King. This old guy turned directly in front of me. I stopped and laid down on the horn. He kept coming. He hit the bumper just to the driver's side of center. I figured he would stop right about here. But, no. He just kept dragging across the front of it. Went all the way across to the passenger's side. Kept right on going into the BK parking lot and parked just like it was a regular day. He told us he didn't realize he hit us. Told the officer he thought he ran up on the curb. Uh, there's no curb there. It'll be July before my local guy can put new pieces on the little truck. Not a lot of damage, but, damn! If you can't see to the front of your car, and can't hear a horn right in your ear, maybe it's time to hang it up? If this had been out on the highway, somebody could have been killed.
  14. Shut up, Bob! It's tempting enough without you adding fuel to the fire! LOL!
  15. That was my next question too. Exactly what trans do you have and which shift exactly? I know these guys can figure it out…with enough information.
  16. Trying to think of what could be wrong that would allow the sliding rings to engage on an upshift and not on a downshift. I'm drawing a blank. If a fork or rod was binding, it would not act like that. Bad bearings? Seems like it would do the same thing on an upshift. I mean, if it will move to a place where it will grind, it should be as simple as matching the RPMs, and it should fall in. Maybe The Brain Trust can come up with something. Wish it was next-door so I could see it.
  17. Yikes!
  18. If it's a 237, it probably isn't a '61 engine. I think you are right. Sounds like something in the governor.
  19. That one kinda makes me want to do something stupid...
  20. Can you get a picture of the engine tag as well?
  21. Wasn't that the ENDT-675R that was governed at something like 1,800 RPM?
  22. I'm assuming that's a manual Maxitorque, not an automatic? Got a video so we can see and hear it? Tried "floating" it, without using the clutch?
