  1. The parking brake valve on my R was factory-plumbed in such a way to give an anti-compounding effect. Really clever, since it eliminated the need for a separate anti-compounding valve in the system. Parking brake system is actually very simple, and a huge improvement over the hand-operated brake. Great progress already. Keep us informed.
  2. Just verified that the gates open to the public at 10:00 AM tomorrow.
  3. Oh, and Freightrain is a good resource on this one. He's already done it.
  4. Seems like there have always been "short snout" and "long snout" water pump discussions on here. I believe they are crucial for putting engines into things like the B model which are "tighter" under the hood. Keep us informed.
  5. Wonder where they'll make up that money?
  6. I'm bringing the twin grandsons. I think the wife is planning to come too. Getting her to stand for a picture is tough, though.
  7. I was hoping you would bring him.
  8. Should work. We can do a few different shots for different postings. That is, if Dean doesn't get camera shy! I think the gate opens to the public at 10:00.
  9. I think we should. Just have to coordinate it with everybody. I will send my cell phone number to anybody that's planning to be there. Dean has it already, and I think I sent it to Joey. I'll send you a PM, Brocky.
  10. From a totally ignorant perspective, it sounds like a check valve. But there are much brighter people on here who will be able to help. I have no doubt.
  11. Sounds like Joey, Dean, Brocky, and I will be there at least.
  12. I was hopin’ you would see this one, ‘Train.
  13. I'm not sure, but I THINK Haldex-Midland may still sell those rebuilt switches. I see several types online. https://www.heavydutypros.com/mack-wiper-air-control-valve-7623-7547070.aspx?utm_medium=paid&utm_keyword=&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=16494479656&utm_network=x&utm_placement=&utm_source=&utm_prodid=174594&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmICoBhDxARIsABXkXlJsZ_StkSy2jAWbs5qq_sMPr4a2c7C-XMID26ek3__9Wcxxa1wo7c4aAsGSEALw_wcB I'm sure some of the guys will know more about the inner workings of these.
  14. Probably. But, look this over. Start down at about page 19-20. Gives some items to check. bendix-tu-flo-400-500-1000-air-compressor-user-manual.pdf
  15. Just bumping this thread. Brad's truck show this weekend. Weather forecast looking great right now. Exit 33 off of US 321 between Hickory and Gastonia, NC.
  16. He said "tranny"... This is one of "those" guys I was telling you about. Help him and he'll help you.
  17. Welcome! Start by telling the guys here everything you can about the truck. Manual or auto? VIN number? Shift plate picture (if it has one)? Lots of experts on here. Some of them are downright amazing. A couple of them can even look up the VIN number and tell you more about the truck than most of us could if we were standing in front of it! But, they will need a little more information to get them started.
  18. I say it's another case of..."your truck sucks!" And the best way to make it "cool" would be to drop it off at my house. Then it would be cool! Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to see more pictures. Love those steel-dash R-models.
  19. Diesel-Electric locomotives proved themselves years ago. It's about time somebody noticed how efficient they are. I've been wondering when somebody would jump on this bandwagon. Cudos to them!
  20. Power steering boxes can have a little movement that feels like "play" that is actually movement in the valve (either rotary or axial). 3" at the OD of the wheel, Like MACKS said, isn't all that much. Tires? Alignment? Drag link? Rod ends? Spring eye bushings?
  21. Hope Dad comes through it okay. We'll be thinkin' about y'all.
  22. Here are some newer ones from Jeff. "If your mouth and your wallet never close in strip clubs..." "If you're eliminated on the first letter of a word at a spelling bee..."
  23. I had a friend from "up north" when I was younger. He said that he always thought southern folks were stupid because they talked slower. But, he later learned that talking faster did not necessarily make you smarter. It just made the stupid things come out of your mouth faster. He was the first one who ever admitted to me that he left where he lived to escape people like himself. Was a pretty cool guy. Lost touch with him years ago. Not sure where he ever ended up.
  24. You should hear me…
