  1. Yep. Let it go. Or else my original comments are rendered incorrect!
  2. Aluminum F doors would be killer!
  3. But, remember, OLD R doors, not new ones. It is supposed to be possible to exchange old & new doors, "with minor modification on the latch location", but I don't know exactly what that means!
  4. Just as soon as I feel good enough to go outside! Have some rust on rh rocker area. Some rust in rear corners. One "repaired"seam over lh door. Its not the worst R cab out there. Not by a long shot. The floors are quite solid. If I had the doors in good shape, it might hold me a while. I do need new cab mounts, though.
  5. I wouldn't mind going ahead and getting a rh door on it.In fact, I would like to get both doors rebuilt and put back on. At some time, though, I will likely have to replace the cab, as it does have SOME issues. Then, those "new" doors could be transplanted to the new cab. I like doing things in stages! Less shock to the wallet! Anybody got a good rh door (old model door, not newer)?
  6. Sorry. Hope I didn't transmit it to you via a computer virus, as suggested above!Hope you feel better soon.
  7. Also check out Curtis Collectibles & Buffalo Road Imports.
  8. Got mine for a lot less! About $200 when they were going for $450-500.
  9. They have contact info on their website. Biggest decision would be what models in what scales. The more variations, the more money.
  10. No ideas. Sorry. Maybe an aftermarket resin cast part? Or make a resin casting from one you have?
  11. Here's a pic of a model I built some years back. It's the same paintjob. Planning to paint my R611 this way......someday.
  12. Somebody posted a pic of a similar one here the other day.I wish we'd had all this technology back then. So much of it we don't have good history on. And its a shame.
  13. We had a couple of R700's with V8 Maxidynes & 6-speed Maxitorques which had the big square air cleaners on them. My favorite was the yellow/black one (old green dash model). Dual chrome stacks. Chrome mirrors. Chrome fender-mounted mirrors. That truck just glowed. At idle, that big long 700 hood would sort of quiver, causing the light to reflect off of it & kinda "shimmer". The air filter looked right at home on that big long mother! The other'n was solid black (still green dash). It was cool, but never shined like the "bumble-bee" colored one. Never forget those big square filters. Nor the unusual sound of a V8 through the dual stacks. It's different, ain't it!
  14. Sonny's left us. But I think most of the others are still with us.
  15. I can't hep it. A DM800 is just so bizarre that it can't help being sexy! And I'm an R guy!
  16. Old Rosie! Didn't he do commercials for a florist? When you're as big as Greer, you can like anything you want! And look just fine doing it! I miss those guys from way back when...
  17. Not sure abot the tunability of those pumps. I'm not much of a V8 expert! But, I'm sure someone on here will know!
  18. Double splined axles. "Eagle" wing camelback mount. A freakin' beast! Looks pretyy darned good.
  19. I watched the whole thing on YouTube the other day.
  20. Really? I've never seen a single-screw DM! Learn something new every day.Got any pics or literature on a single? I'd sure like to see one.
  21. I think it's time I start pokin' around for a replacement cab for my R600. My cab is pretty solid, except fot the rh door. But, I don't have the ability to remove/restore/replace it. I'd be better off having a cab ready, & swapping them out. So, everybody please keep your eyes peeled for an old, steel-dash R-model cab. I know there's one good, solid one left SOMEWHERE.
  22. Yeah, that's an E-something from the 40s, ain't it 'Dog?
