  1. Not sure abot the tunability of those pumps. I'm not much of a V8 expert! But, I'm sure someone on here will know!
  2. Double splined axles. "Eagle" wing camelback mount. A freakin' beast! Looks pretyy darned good.
  3. I watched the whole thing on YouTube the other day.
  4. Really? I've never seen a single-screw DM! Learn something new every day.Got any pics or literature on a single? I'd sure like to see one.
  5. I think it's time I start pokin' around for a replacement cab for my R600. My cab is pretty solid, except fot the rh door. But, I don't have the ability to remove/restore/replace it. I'd be better off having a cab ready, & swapping them out. So, everybody please keep your eyes peeled for an old, steel-dash R-model cab. I know there's one good, solid one left SOMEWHERE.
  6. Yeah, that's an E-something from the 40s, ain't it 'Dog?
  7. Hey, jimbo. My R611 came from K-town. Know Walker's truck salvage?
  8. And let's do the obligatory pointing out of the "S" for tandem (all DM trucks were tandem, I believe), and "X" for heavy spec...just in case any newcomers are wondering... Glad these guys were able to help you out with the identification.
  9. By the way, on one forum, the moderator said part of my post was "unnecessary". I wonder if he caught the irony that ALL of his comments were "unnecessary"?
  10. Hmmm....interesting!
  11. Oh, you a funny, funny man!!!
  12. The owner mentioned the wheels, too. He wanted something classier, but there are not too many choices in that hole pattern.
  13. Some of our guys badmouth other brands. Not me! Like one of the guys said earlier this month, "Old iron is old iron."
  14. Worst one I ever saw was a beautiful B cab on a Dodge/Cummins chassis with an automatic transmission & 2 fake wooden shifters sticking out of a console. I never liked truck cabs on pickup chassis. Sorry. No offense to anyone with one. But, to me, half the fun is having real truck engine, transmission, etc... However, I always wanted to put a Mack Jr (Reo) body on a 12-valve Dodge/Cummins chassis. That would let it make the right sound when you fired it up! Thoughts? Comments? Anybody else want to make a speech?
  15. This dude had a B cab on a Midliner chassis
  16. Black fenders are the ticket!
  17. How 'bout a BX with a Mack-built "aerodynamic" trailer...full of Ballantine?
  18. The 2 most asinine responses to a post, & my thoughts on each... 1. "I never had any problem with MINE." Well, ain't it effin' wonderful to be you! Why the hell didn't you just say NOTHING instead of wasting everyone's time who read your "response". 2. "Why do you wanaa do that?" Or "You shouldn't do that." Because it's MINE. When you start paying the bills, you can have an opinion about what I'm doing! Guys on here might warn you that what you're about to do may not be the best idea, but then they'll try to answer your question. Maybe driving a Mack beats you up so bad that don't have strength to be so damned belligerent!
  19. Biggest problem is that they don't make enough variety in the 1/25 scale high detail series. I am tickled to death that they had the B61. I want an R! But, until someone orders enough to make it worthwhile for them to buy the tooling, I'm just SOL. Custom paint, however, can be had fairly easily on an existing model. Maybe we could have a custom series of BMT trucks done? They have 1/34 B models in both single axle & tandem. And, the 1/34 R is an R611 (or 609), steel dash. Hmmm, I have one of those! They have a ton of variety in 1/34. Dumps, loyboys, dump trailers, mixers, etc... Any ideas?
  20. Thought those mountains looked kinda Southern Cal-ish! I remember that 1 or 2 of the Smokey and the Bandit trucks used the V8 Cummins, and one used the inline 6 Cummins. Didn't Movin' On use a V8 Cummins in at least one of their trucks as well???
  21. Then had no air going down the grade, but the spring brakes were still released. Then, when he got to the bottom, he had air again!
  22. Yep! Whether "rheumatis medicine" or "snake bite medicine", liquid corn is the way to go! Can I tell 'em Dr. 57 prescribed it?
  23. Okay! That helps a bunch. I KNEW there was some kind of dual turbo model, but wasn't sure which one. Mega thanks for that bit of info, 'daddy!
  24. I remember one from the Atlanta area. And seems like one from Charlotte. Remember the pilot episode, In Tandem? That was filmed somewhere in some pretty rugged mountainous terrain way out west.
  25. Thanks, Bob.
