  1. And, if you can't have a full sized one, you can always go 1/25 scale. I used to build plastic models, but don't have the time, patience, hands, or eyes for it anymore! These are pretty cool diecast collectibles, & you don't have to do all that tedious work.
  2. Yep. Can't imagine keeping a monkey in the cab!
  3. See if you can open this. It shows where to look for the model number... R-U-DM Unit I.D..pdf
  4. Naaahh! Especially when the beavertail is wet & the trailer's sitting a little si-gogglin'!
  5. I had a battery-powered cassette recorder, & I would record the shows off the tv. Then, when I was doing my homework, or there was nothing on tv, I'd play them back. I could watch them in my mind by just hearing them. I also used to watch NASCAR on the radio! But, that's another story...
  6. Am I the only one who watched Movin' On when I was a kid? Another cheesey show. Overly-dramatic plots. And one of the most technically inaccurate tv shows of all time! But, a cool green KW & a Merle Haggard theme song! And, filmed "around here" for the most part.
  7. Exactly! If you're not in the "in" crowd, you can't have an opinion or (God help you) make a joke.Joke 'em if they can't take a f@&k! Thus sayeth The Weasel!
  8. Wow! I'm so out of it I'm missing the jokes!
  9. Yeah, and I can't drink any Bourbon while I'm on the medicine! You guys may hear all manner of philosophical crap out of me for the next couple of days! Wait! Wait! Don't moderate me! I didn't mean anything!!!
  10. Here's one of the Cats equipped with a Rome K/G cutter blade, like I used to run. This is also how we loaded 'em before they started buying detachable gooseneck lowboy trailers! Came with a very high pucker factor!
  11. By the way, does anybody know how to find the "my content" function on the mobile version of this site? I keep having to go to the "full site" to see my content.
  12. I'm on several different forums, related to several of my interests. I'm sure others of you are too. Ever notice how most of the other ones are both used by & moderated by a#&holes? Seems like most of the members either have no sense of humor or don't quite get mine. The moderators seem to be on a power trip. They feel compelled to impose their will on the posters, rather than keeping watch on the posts. And, worst of all, new members seem to be unwelcome. If you're not in their clique, p$#s on you! Here at bmt, everybody is welcome. Nobody makes smart-ass comments just because you have a different point of view. Posters tend to treat others with respect. And, most importantly, the moderatos will actually engage in the conversations, rather than try to make the whole forum their own. Dang, this cough medicine is some good stuff!
  13. Ohhhh...... That's baaaaaad!
  14. Ha! And OptiLube XPD in the fuel!
  15. Thanks, y'all!
  16. Thanks, farmer. I'll get into the "rheumatism medicine" in a little while. Doctor says that's a bad idea. I told him it wasn't if you wanted to die!
  17. Wife has the flu. Twin grandbabies have the flu. Now I have the flu. I guess the virus mutates so fast the vaccines can't keep up. Yuck... I probably didn't help it. We received a $1.3M machine this week (1 year late!), & I was running in & out of the building in the 5º weather all week. Probably lowers the body's ability to fight off "the germ". At least I get to visit with the drivers who deliver the pieces (5 trucks...so far), look at their trucks, & talk trucks. I was a little disillusioned, however, when one driver asked me how I got my non-clutch-brake-equipped truck in gear without a clutch brake! I told him you do it the same way you always did: wait a couple of seconds. Amazed that a professional driver didn't know that. Wow! I did go out this afternoon & start the Dog. First time since the mercury hit the single digits this week. It was, understandably, a little reluctant. But, the fact that a single 12V battery will start that old truck continues to please & impress me. I would have plugged up the block heater, but I didn't have that much life left in me! Later, guys...
  18. Maybe a little air leaking through the control valve?C'mon. Somebody out there HAS to know this one!
  19. I don't think so. If its like the civilian ones, I believe the air is only ported to it in "run" & "park" modes. But, I don't really consider myself an expert on it!
  20. Littering and...??? Littering and...??? Littering and...???
  21. "Hello...is this the party to whom I am speaking?"
  22. Maybe we're just supposed to yell out the window...
  23. Not to put too fine a point on it, but, technically, a "full floating" axle is any axle where the wheel hub is retained solely by the bearings, and not the axle. And, Mack's nomenclature for a straight truck was "platform", and was designated by the letter "P". This was very common on B models. But it wasn't used that much on the R. I do recall P designations on several R400 series trucks though...like an R401P, below.
