  1. I hope this doesn't start a brawl...I HATED driving the original Maxidyne/Maxitorque trucks! Having to wait that long to downshift drove me batty! You had to get in a whole different frame of mind to drive them. We used to call them a "lazy man's truck." Just personal preference, I guess.
  2. Pretty classy...

  12. Yep. But I didn't have far to go. Your profile says Colorado? That's a "fur piece" to go to see the show! "Looks like a legend & an out-of-work bum look a lot alike, Daddy."
  13. Not sure how new they can go. Newer stuff is usually available through the dealer system.
  14. Assuming it's an old truck, and you have the vin off the frame...Call the Mack museum. Or, you can email them. The contact info is on their website. They can send you the build sheet. It's invaluable information. It may not break everything down, but it ususally has enough detail to get you headed in the right direction.

  24. Pokin' around under the hood of the R the other day. Noticed a block heater harness coming out of the engine block. Traced the wires to a still-bundled cable tucked behind the oil cooler. From the amount of crud on the plug, I don't think the previous owner knew it was there. Cleaned it up. Checked continuity. Looked good. Tried it out on an 18-degree morning. Gave it about 3 hours, & it lit right up. Very nice discovery. Like finding money in the pocket of an old pair of pants!
