  1. Sorry to hear this.
  2. True, didn't think about the permit side. But those tests are pretty self explanatory. Ohio uses TV screen with pictures and 4 answers. If you really paid attention, they re used the same question with a different word missing for you to pick. You don't really have to memorize much, but just have to have some common sense to pass it. Just like the motorcycle permit test. Same deal, you have to get 75% to pass, well the test only lasts long enough for you to get to 75% and it stops. I hadn't missed one, but it said "I passed" when it got to number 16 of 20 questions. What? Same deal, it really just helps weed out the clueless people. Not really difficult if you read the question carefully. The riding course is the same. Many just borrow a little scooter to take it on, then hop on their full dresser and lay it over. I took the state riders course(2 days) and got my license. It was overly simplified and went quickly. Second day you took the basic test like you have at DMV, but you used their 250 Rebels LOL!!! Taking it like this was suppose to help with my insurance. Nope, that was a lie. State Farm didn't care at all. Not that I am a high risk anyway, but to safe a few bucks I tried.
  3. I was just young enough to remember the milk man, the bread man coming on Saturday morning. I still remember the good days when mom would buy some maple rolls and we would heat them up!! Yum.
  4. Resembles this only missing a couple axles: Necessity, however, can breed some interesting solutions. This one was called the tank van, an unorthodox innovation by Cole's Express, one of Maine's premier transportation companies, which was intended to combine a bulk tanker with a conventional 45-foot box trailer and still fit within maximum length restrictions as they existed nearing the mid-Sixties. Is this what you were thinking of Paul?
  5. If you fail a portion of the test, you have to start over on that portion. Say if you pass the pre trip then fail the road test for whatever reason, you don't have to retest the pre trip again. You start on the road portion.
  6. Remember doing mine 15 yrs ago. It went much easier then any Ford twin I beam I have worked on. Note, recheck your gap on the thrust bearing after some miles. I let mine go for a few years and wondered why I had a real bad shake to the steering wheel. Come to find out the spindle was jumping up/down on the pin(like .030) because the thrust had worn in. Put a couple notches on the nut and it was back to smooth again. Found out I need to check that a bit more often.
  7. What motor?
  8. Basically keeps the fuel turned down til the motor builds boost(so it won't smoke), so yes it will seem a bit gutless compared to without it.
  9. My work handles shipping on a daily basis so getting it loaded is not a big deal. Just getting a big enough skid to hold it is more the issue.
  10. I keep trying to pawn off my ol 673, but you are quite a trip away.
  11. He built it all. Big house, big shop and even a large dirt bike oval. For the dirt bike guy that has everything LOL!! He calls it "top of the world" because it is the highest place in town. Very cool, great view on top of the hill, but the road to it SUCKS!! He's complained, but to no avail. He has even threatened to pave it himself!!! Winter shot. House in front, banked track to the right. Shop is behind the house, can't see it very well.
  12. Well, it's just a lowly 2wd. No 4x4 poser here. Even the work trucks, I pay out of pocket to put them through the car wash as I can't stand to be in crusty vehicles. I have a bit more pride in myself then most here at work. The first new truck we had here in 1986, I used to stop at the spray wash at least once a week and clean it. I was proud of that new stake bed and I wanted it shiny red. There hasn't been an employee YET that has ever spent a dollar on cleaning a company vehicle since. Even the VP, we have to pay a local hand wash place to detail his company car. Pathetic in my eyes.
  13. When I put dynamat on the inside of my B, it was night and day difference. The doors shut "clunk", instead of "CLANK".....
  14. Mostly because of that WONDERFUL lifetime antifreeze crap. Get it out and use some green and it won't eat the intake gaskets out of it. G/F's 09 Jeep has terrible heat. Likely clogged heater core because of this red crap they put in. I wanted to flush and use green, but she bought lifetime warranty on the truck and I don't want to jinx it. I know they would void it when they do their annual inspection and found green coolant. So now she has to pay a fortune to have core replaced(I'm not doing it). She had it flushed a year ago, it helped some. Still not hot. That worthless red sh*t is "lifetime guaranteed". They just don't tell you how SHORT of a lifetime it has.
  15. The guy I'm building the Willys for, lives on a gravel/mud path. The township will NOT pave it. His house is NOT a shack, he pays a LOT of taxes on his 11 acres. The township doesn't have the money to pave it, so they just rake it and dump pea gravel on it every few weeks. Doesn't seem cheaper to maintain to me? If they just chip/seal it that would likely keep it from washing away and turning into a cow path. I dread having to travel that road twice a week. The only place that makes money is the spray wash. I spray my truck off every time I leave because I don't want it to look like I went offroading. When it's wet it's a rutted mess, when it's dry it's a rutted dustbowl. He actually is looking at buying a building IN town to park his hot rods so he doesn't have to have them washed/cleaned after every trip out. Oh, remember, the Lottery was going to help fund schools. Ya, right. That never happened either.
  16. A friend wanted to drive my B model. He barely fit under the wheel with the seat all the way down. Ya, these old trucks do have "size" limits.
  17. Better ad would be: "Orange skidder, tires hold air"
  18. Yes, I was contemplating getting round tanks, but the cost for the brackets was a bit more then I wanted to pay. The basic tank cost was the same. They couldn't make a step tank like a B model though, I would have to put steps on the straps. I just decided to go this route. Pretty happy with them.
  19. With the glare off the tank you wont notice the rusty doors! I also put new chrome elbows on the stacks. Them crusty bare metal ones werent going to cut it anymore.
  20. Well I am working hard. One tank about ready for mounting. Once there I will polish the step area. Too hard to hold tank steady with foot to polish with this big grinder. The brackets are powder coated.
  21. AWESOME news!!!!!!
  22. Like a P51 mustang............ (dammit it won't post the pic) or "Mater"?
  23. Aye Mate....I see your point. (I didn't realize you were from down under. The air starter wasn't a big enough clue for me )
