  1. When the Today show was talking about all this, they brought up the question to Trumps election adviser(what's her name?) about Trump saying the election is "rigged". She basically commented that it was not the election but everything revolved around it(guess she didn't want to come out and say "the TV news"). Then to find out Hillary couldn't even stand to come out and concede the loss to her rally group. Really. Wow. The news made sure to repeat that, along with the fact that is is common for the loser to make the formal announcement themselves, not their adviser. I think the "political bully" was really taken back by the fact they lost. I was really surprised to see how much RED was on the map when they showed the results. Wow, did they miss the boat on that guess.
  2. Wow...."the people" have spoken. Strange even after all the news media blasted us with "Hillary is in the lead" nonsense for the last year. Seems the news media were asking the wrong people their opinion?
  3. Pretty cool. Kinda like Icon, http://www.icon4x4.com/. Sure the price tags are similar. One thing that kinda makes me question the build of the Napco chevy is the fuel tank in the bed? WTH is that. Couldn't they come up with anything better. The big thing most guys do with their 67-72 Ford is put a tank behind the axle, under the bed. I think it is a tank from a 60's Mustang? That Chevy is pretty cool and nicely done but seeing that tank exposed in the bed with all the fuel lines sticking out just says "oops, this is all we could think of".
  4. Let's talk Mike.
  5. Crap, I had the truck out yesterday moving stuff around and as I walked up to it I told myself I need to check fuel pressure when I shut it off and see how longs it takes to drop to zero. Yup, forgot. Dang it anyway. Need to check it tonight?
  6. I have the 673P out of my truck for sale. No known issues. Just removed it to install more power(237). Mileage unknown. Items not on engine: flywheel, air compressor, water pump/housing, balancer/hub that were used on the 237. Ran well for 14 yrs I ran it, good oil pressure, did not burn oil(maybe a few quarts in 5000 miles--which was the typical mileage I put on a year). Converted to spin on oil filters. Asking $750. Must pick up, no shipping. Should have access to tow truck for loading.
  7. I'd have to go pump mine to see what it does, as I just put a pressure gauge on mine recently. I'll be getting the truck out tomorrow anyhow. My 237 has about 15# at idle.
  8. Valve cover gaskets are easy. Anything for a 2 valve will work, like 237 up to a 300. If cold it will take a few seconds to light off, but once warm it should kick off instantly for the most part. I just put a fuel pressure gauge on my 237 to check for issues with my power. Can't say I remember watching how long it takes to bleed down once I shut it off? I wonder if the check valve is leaking down on the return line? Not sure if that would show on pressure gauge?
  9. Ummm, well, what color is that green leaker you own????????? Don't come to Barberton, Ohio. They have a PURPLE one. Ya, that is the school colors so they got a pumper in that color. The station is about 3 blocks from my work. I pass it every day.
  10. Is this where they came up with: "the stars are aligned"? LOL!!! Really nice work! That stack elbow looks like it's been patched up a few times?
  11. It's like watching the videos from Russia and the like. Scary what some drivers do. I think most are really that clueless.
  12. Ad is gone.
  13. Is that even something that they would offer parts for(today)? Or do they consider it expendable and just replace the whole leg? What part needs replaced? Shafts, gears, bushings?
  14. The bell looked pretty original to the motor, at least paint wise. I installed the flywheel and indicated it in and it was dead on so it was not just thrown on there. Being a Fire truck engine what would the typical transmission be? Still the same 5 spd as an R model with dual disc clutch? Though the flywheel bolts were oversized so it makes you wonder what the real back story is to this motor?
  15. LOL!!!!! Now that's funny. Yes, it can be a "undetermined" amount of effort to steer depending on the situation. I'll keep mine though. Just my .02.
  16. If you use your bellhousing then it will bolt right up. If you try to use the twin disc-like from a 5-6 speed(deep) bellhousing it might not. Be much easier to use your quad. All depends on what 237 you find. Mine was lucky and had single disc bellhousing. Most won't and you will have to indicate and redrill the dowel pins to fit your bellhousing. See the bellhousing? It has lower right starter and was for single clutch. It supposedly came from a firetruck, with how the oil dipstick was aimed I would guess it was a CF(cabover). It's for access from the rear, not the front like an R Model would be.
  17. Air pressure switch. Likely for the low air light on the dash. By the markings it comes on at 60 psi which is about right.
  18. I noticed the missing battery box also, unless someone put it on the drivers side for some reason. The tank just looks a bit small for air start. Guess they thing 30 gal is enough. Most are twice that length. But nothing bigger would fit.
  19. Small round doesnt look big enough for air start but maybe it is? Maybe wet line? Wonder if they moved the stock tank back to make room?
  20. Sorry, copied/pasted all the info but forgot the link. Thanks Jim. It's only a few minutes from me and I've had thoughts of just going to look at it. Not that I have any need for it but the money is pretty cheap. I'm thinking they asked more for it earlier this summer? Oh how the township would raise hell if that sat in the driveway for more then a day LOL!! I just realized it is a "Gangle" truck. They have been around for years and I know they run some really nice Mack dumps(typically red/black). I used to frequent the historical equipment shows and they would bring some old shovels to play in the dirt. I remember Jim Gangle on the newer trucks. Butch must have been dad? brother?
  21. I was terrified about my triplex, but I have found that it does fine overall. Yes, I still drive it like a Thermodyne, keep it above 1500 rpm and nothing sounds like it is complaining. Some have said that a 237 won't pull higher RPM(up to 2100)very well, but mine is awesome. No complaints at all.
  22. I did put a flipper valve on it from stories I've heard. I turned it off but made so little difference I just leave it on. Due to the lash(movement in the valve) in the torque valve it always has a touch of looseness but I don't let it bother me.
  23. I like my air steering. I put up with armstrong for 13 yrs, this is a nice improvement. Perfect? No, not by a long shot, but better. You have to get used to the random "feel" of it.
  24. Nice score. Ya, you won't know what to do with all the power over using a pickup truck.
