  1. He's missing the hinge cover plates!!!! For shame LOL! I'm jealous as heck over that clean interior. To think the day mine would be 1/4 that nice.
  2. Nope, too long for a sleeper cab and doesn't taper out like a sleeper cab.
  3. Did a little investigating with my new upgrade yesterday. Seems the cable is wayyy too long for my application(go figure). Without cutting things I will likely end up mounting it up in the very front corner behind the passenger headlight bucket on the frame. That will give me the length I need to loop the cable down the inner fender and around to the throttle linkage. I send an email to them asking about the strength of the stepper motor as my return spring is pretty stout and worried about the ability for it to pull it and not damage it. When I receive a reply I'm going to ask them about changing the length of the cable. Do I have to return it to them or do it myself? The clutch switch I'm concerned about. It does not appear to be "weather resistant" and with having to mount it under the cab(behind the drivers tire), I'm worried that even with just the rain I might drive in will it survive? I'm going to look at purchasing a sealed switch just for longevity sake. With the unit mounted so far forward all the wiring is no where long enough on anything so I'll be soldering extensions. It does come with weather pak style plugs on the unit itself. They offer a shifter mounted control box but I didn't want to ask what that costs so I am making my own little box to mount on the compound lever for my two switches. That will be more driver accessible friendly then mounted on the dash(which is too far to reach for my driving comfort). The tale continues................

  5. Lucky mine is a fair weather truck so salt isn't an issue, but I can see your point if you did use it on a daily driver. My first question is how "heavy" of a return spring can I leave on my pump? I've got a pretty stiff one right now and not sure how strong that stepper motor is for torque? Might have to change the spring to a bit softer version? I know they did offer a shifter mounted unit with a dial on it for speed changes. I didn't ask about it but I think I'm going to make my own little box and mount the two switches to the compound shifter handle. That would keep them in easy reach as that is the shifter next to my leg and the most common to have to downshift first if need be on a hill. Grab the handle and flick the switch with my finger..........sounds like a plan. I have a small metal brake at work so making the box should be easy enough.
  6. I bought myself an early christmas present. I have heard about this from other places and thought i would give it a try. Ordered it and it showed up a couple days later. Seems pretty simple to install, even easier since I already have an electronic speedo for a signal. Not sure how quick I will get it installed but will update as soon as I can.
  7. ^^Yup, my thought too. And why I got spoke hubs for the rear when I stretched mine. Didn't want the mismatch look. I know they used to run budd on the front, spoke on the rear. Not the other way around.

  10. If the metal is scorched then it will take lots of sanding to get it back down to a surface that can be polished. I've used Wenol on my stuff and it does okay to bring back some luster. Today there are LOTS of products on the market.
  11. When the Today show was talking about all this, they brought up the question to Trumps election adviser(what's her name?) about Trump saying the election is "rigged". She basically commented that it was not the election but everything revolved around it(guess she didn't want to come out and say "the TV news"). Then to find out Hillary couldn't even stand to come out and concede the loss to her rally group. Really. Wow. The news made sure to repeat that, along with the fact that is is common for the loser to make the formal announcement themselves, not their adviser. I think the "political bully" was really taken back by the fact they lost. I was really surprised to see how much RED was on the map when they showed the results. Wow, did they miss the boat on that guess.
  12. Wow...."the people" have spoken. Strange even after all the news media blasted us with "Hillary is in the lead" nonsense for the last year. Seems the news media were asking the wrong people their opinion?
  13. Pretty cool. Kinda like Icon, http://www.icon4x4.com/. Sure the price tags are similar. One thing that kinda makes me question the build of the Napco chevy is the fuel tank in the bed? WTH is that. Couldn't they come up with anything better. The big thing most guys do with their 67-72 Ford is put a tank behind the axle, under the bed. I think it is a tank from a 60's Mustang? That Chevy is pretty cool and nicely done but seeing that tank exposed in the bed with all the fuel lines sticking out just says "oops, this is all we could think of".

  15. Crap, I had the truck out yesterday moving stuff around and as I walked up to it I told myself I need to check fuel pressure when I shut it off and see how longs it takes to drop to zero. Yup, forgot. Dang it anyway. Need to check it tonight?
  16. I have the 673P out of my truck for sale. No known issues. Just removed it to install more power(237). Mileage unknown. Items not on engine: flywheel, air compressor, water pump/housing, balancer/hub that were used on the 237. Ran well for 14 yrs I ran it, good oil pressure, did not burn oil(maybe a few quarts in 5000 miles--which was the typical mileage I put on a year). Converted to spin on oil filters. Asking $750. Must pick up, no shipping. Should have access to tow truck for loading.
  17. I'd have to go pump mine to see what it does, as I just put a pressure gauge on mine recently. I'll be getting the truck out tomorrow anyhow. My 237 has about 15# at idle.
  18. Valve cover gaskets are easy. Anything for a 2 valve will work, like 237 up to a 300. If cold it will take a few seconds to light off, but once warm it should kick off instantly for the most part. I just put a fuel pressure gauge on my 237 to check for issues with my power. Can't say I remember watching how long it takes to bleed down once I shut it off? I wonder if the check valve is leaking down on the return line? Not sure if that would show on pressure gauge?
  19. Ummm, well, what color is that green leaker you own????????? Don't come to Barberton, Ohio. They have a PURPLE one. Ya, that is the school colors so they got a pumper in that color. The station is about 3 blocks from my work. I pass it every day.

  23. Is that even something that they would offer parts for(today)? Or do they consider it expendable and just replace the whole leg? What part needs replaced? Shafts, gears, bushings?
  24. The bell looked pretty original to the motor, at least paint wise. I installed the flywheel and indicated it in and it was dead on so it was not just thrown on there. Being a Fire truck engine what would the typical transmission be? Still the same 5 spd as an R model with dual disc clutch? Though the flywheel bolts were oversized so it makes you wonder what the real back story is to this motor?
