  1. I did change it. But the ol 673 ran on the governor for many years without any problems. I drove it with my foot firmly planted on the floor, all day, every day at 2100 rpm. It's strange now, how I just feather the throttle to run along at speed. A little boost goes a LONG way.
  2. Must be how they got the "approval" to burn the flag? At least that is the story I heard last week. The Supreme court "allowed" it to happen, only problem was the city of Cleveland doesn't allow open flame. Oh darn.
  3. Strangely enough, only being less then an hour south of all this mayhem, I didn't really hear a word about it on the news all week. Pretty quiet actually. Come friday night I heard the RNC was over and everyone was going home. Huh? Oh, didn't realize it was over as I never heard anything about gang wars and cop shootings all week. I was thinking it would be HUGE news week with all the crap that was getting stirred up before hand. BUT, it was all over in the blink of an eye.
  4. The Ford: Doesn't someone from ATHS have one of these they are restoring? Twin engine Diamond T How's that for a face only a Mother could love??? I built this growing up. Wish it would have been real:
  5. That flag burning idiot, supposedly had some kind of official paperwork allowing him to burn a flag "as free expression". Only problem, you can't have an open fire in the city of Cleveland, thus they go arrested. If you think burning the flag is showing anything, then you need to find a new island and go live there. Let's see how you are doing in 5 years without any free hand outs?
  6. I've seen a Cheeseman truck in my travels around Ohio. A quick google brings me their website. Can't say I have any other information. Wonder if anyone in the Black Swamp or Cincinnati chapter would have known him? I know a few from Black swamp, but the Cincy Chapter I think is pretty thin these days and I don't really know anyone.
  7. When I popped a stud a few years ago, I bought 3-4 of them from Stanton Mack. Not sure how many are floating around anymore? I was going to check ARP to see if they had anything I could use, but didn't need to.
  8. Jay's didn't have a 427, it was a 7 Litre car(428). A friend does have this: Real factory built 427 car. He has the paperwork from the original owner down in GA? Somewhere down there.
  9. Honorable campaign? Who?? Not a single political candidate has EVER done that. LOL!!
  10. ^^LOL. I was thinking that same line.
  11. Some one else just posted about using a mobile device and had issues with the site. Sorry I can't help.
  12. http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/5690564451.html 1966 MACK - $23500 (MANTUA, OH) 1966 B53 Mack 237 with 18 speed quad; shepherd in-box power steering with pump on back of air compressor; big B heater; 11" dry-type air cleaner; alternator; radiator re-cored; Mack camel-back with new urethane bushings; 4 maxi chambers; 573 ratio; new 11R22.5 caps on rear, fronts are 1200x20, 80%; heavy rear hitch with air and light plug; 15' Galion dump box with Rolls Rite electric tarper; extra 50 gallon fuel tank on left side with crank pump to haul off-road fuel to machinery, not plumbed to truck engine; truck has 50 gallon step tank left side, battery box right side; Viking t-bar driver's seat, extended rider's seat. Truck is very clean with one owner last 40 years. Always serviced and ready to go to work. Not mine.
  13. Vanishing Point. Ya, that was what I was thinking of first.
  14. Yup, the insane prices they get for GM SUVs (and pickups) is crazy. It might be more even against Ford today, but 15 years back the prices had quite a large gap in them. Where did I hear a new Escalade SUV is pushing 90K?
  15. Seems they used that view in a movie or two? Maybe not.
  16. Mark.............PICS OR YOU DON'T ACTUALLY OWN IT!! Come on, you know the rules!!!!! Very cool project. Just another one of my "wish lists". There was a 50's GMC for sale locally, 671/4spd. I bet they were really hard to get moving on any kind of grade and slow to accelerate with only 4 gears. Still cool looking. I have a 6041 4spd in my truck. I think it is only rated at like 200 hp. I can get you some basic dimensions. I know it has 2.19 low hole in it. But you can't shift out of it while moving basically(it is only progessive in 3 gears).
  17. You must have a direct box? I have single over triplex(and with old 4.62 gears it would run 65 at 2100 rpm). With 4.10's now it will go 72 mph. I've run it flat on the governor for lots of years going 65 dragging my trailer. The ol 673 didn't really care.
  18. I put about 14 yrs and 50K miles on mine without any A/C. It sure is nice now that it does have it. I put up with it long enough.
  19. Great work so far. I just used one of those EZ Wire harnesses in a 41 Willys project I'm working on. Pretty nice stuff, all marked wires. Only bad was the kit I had to use was the 21 circuit and the fuse panel has NO markings on it. You have to guess what fuse is what. I see you got the more typical GM style fuse panel unit(like 12 circuit?). Much better. I got roped into this project after it was started, so I had to work with what was there. Though as tight as this little car is that little fuse panel fit better then then that big GM style. (notice LOTS of yellow tape to better mark the wires for what they are. Reading that little print gets hard on the eyes) I think you are thinking of Speedway Motors for your parts place in Iowa? They have pretty good catalogs for stuff to build hot rods with. I noticed you have a very similar underdash air unit that I have in my truck. Mine was from Retro Air in Texas. Don't worry, it will FREEZE you out of the cab! Mine works really well and priced right.
  20. I was trying to be tongue-in-cheek about how any item that is used to kill is quickly "banned", well, here in America anyway. Guess that was my poor attempt on Friday at humor. Not that the situation is funny at all. It's sad.
  21. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2016/07/15/at-least-80-dead-18-seriously-injured-in-bastille-day-terror-attack-in-france.html How do you fight this? They were talking on the news this morning about it and the heightened security. What are cops with batons going to do against a truck. Oh, ya, we'll just ban trucks...ya, that will fix it. Ugh. It's tragic anymore. My prayers go out to all.
  22. Most of the late model 5spds need ATF. They run on needle bearing gears and tapered end bearings and the clearances are tight. Anything to thicken it is no good. Unless it is really, really wore out. 15 yrs back I put 1/2 Lucas and 1/2 75w/90 in my triplex. It quieted it down a touch but made it stiff to shift even when warm. I changed it some years back to just gear lube and it shifts easier, though not as easy as I would like. Since I tightened up the rear bearing shim it got a bit quieter even with the lighter lube.
  23. It is a bolt in. Just with a B61 you have to run the 673 water pump and balancer to keep it short enough. Not sure if a B75 has the same problems? If not, then not a worry. I still run the original 673 single disc clutch. Had DW Clutch in Baltimore rebuild it and use an upgraded material(I think it was Fibertuff). Good place, good prices and quick turn around(like 3-4 days). Took a few miles to break it in, then it started biting and holds fine. http://dwclutch.com/
  24. Just put a 237 in my B. Loving it! I skip along the first few gears, then split 4 and 5. I'm only 27K lbs loaded. It moves along well and I'm very careful to keep the RPM over 1500 rpm. Splitting it up a gear usually keeps it at speed other then a big hill might take two gears. My old triplex is pretty loose so I drive it by feel of the shifter. If it starts to feel like it is not liking it, I split up a gear and it smooths out.
  25. Not knowing much, but do the oil lines coming from the block have typical AN fittings(I'm picturing my 673 full flow system)? You could buy a screw on style base and just hook the lines up to it? Should not be too hard to do?
