  1. Top of the water manifold and back into the water pump. Just remove plugs and hook up hoses.
  2. I put R model spin on my 673 na. Do you have oil Cooler? Mine doesnt. I got mine from Global truck trader on the east coast.
  3. Ditto that. Been a really warm winter here in Ohio. I guess we might get some white stuff on Sunday as that system blows through. Doubt it sticks since the ground is so warm.
  4. What happens when you bypass the drier? If it is getting good air to it then I would remove it and see if it works fine without it. If the drier is anything like we have on our compressor at work it has a disectant(sp) filter that could be clogged. If we run the old compressor it pumps lots of oil and it will clog the filter til hardly any air gets through the filter so I have to bypass the filter if I have to run it. The unloader valve in the compressor could be leaking back and not actually making good pressure. Or the governor is holding it open?
  5. The ol 673 will run on the governor all day(been there for lots of years). Look on the drivers side of the transmission for a flat spot that will have the transmission code on it. Same with rearend. Won't be hard to figure out what road speed you have.
  6. What is the difference?
  7. I rebooted my computer and it really works well now with the new format......................................................
  8. Which brand of pump? Typically just a small wrench will get the job done. I did mine years ago. Once fuel got to $4/gal I rolled it back down again. It is back to 8 mpg instead of 4 mpg. She did run much better, but couldn't afford to feed it.
  9. Correct Glenn. It draws water(heat) from the water manifold, goes to heater, then returns to the water pump.
  10. The original line came back into the casting the water pump bolts to(which is now the oil cooler-see the flat spot on top of the elbow going to cooler). I found a plug in the water pump to use.
  11. Got pump mounted. Fan belts on. Radiator set in. Can now work on making radiator hoses.
  12. Got mine on EBay also.
  13. oh...no pictures. She is not photogenic and runs/hides from cameras.
  14. Ya, your "friend with a wrecker" has a BIGGER wrecker then my friend with a wrecker LOL!!! But, it all works the same. Beats the hell out using a tree........... Yuns got a slightly larger shop to work in too.
  15. I'm thinking Karen might find them when she gets in the bunk to sleep on the way home.........
  16. Well I looked at my 673 pump, there is plug on the drivers side I can remove and put a nipple on for the heater hose. Looks like it will work out after all. Tragedy averted. Thanks guys. Mike, I'm thinking the Winfall Wimmin would probably get the truck nice and warm for me..........but thinking Karen might not be to keen to the idear.
  17. Thanks Keith. I'll have to do some checking tomorrow and see where I can tie into the waterpump. I know I don't have room like that as the 673 pump is shorter and the pulley covers up most of the pump. Pretty sure mine came off the casting(where the oil cooler is at) but my 237 doesn't have a fitting there(just like yours doesn't). Where's Jim at?? Where did you tie your heater into on your 285?
  18. The original 237 had the line coming off the bottom of the pump, going around the passenger side to the air compressor(just like the 673). That I will reuse with my 673 pump. The one heater hose came off the front/top of the water manifold and returned back into below that area(mine had no oil cooler). I'd have to go look again to confirm. The 237 manifold does not have a fitting in the front since it has the water filter set up on it. Then the oil cooler does not have any fitting in the front either. I'll get some pics and post them, likely tomorrow night.
  19. Hmmm, ok. Only problem is I have the 673 waterpump on it. I have the fitting on the bottom of it, that is where the line goes to the head of the air compressor. I do have a fitting in the top of the front manifold where I was going to hook one line(that motor just has a plug in it). Just not sure of the water flow and where I would need to bring it back in? I have the temp sender in the same location as that picture. I have the shutterstat in the same location also.
  20. Nothing. This supposedly came from a fire truck if that matters? The feed for air compressor is on bottom of water pump. No other holes like on my old motor. This having an oil cooler makes it slightly different set up. Just curious if anyone has an r model with 237 to see where they route the hoses.
  21. It could actually, have fuel and electric hooked up. Just no water yet. Got the crank bolted torqued last night. Picking up water pump gasket and then can put that in and install radiator. Then front end, etc. Have to fab up upper and lower radiator hoses. I do need to get some idea on where to hook heater core up. I found a place on water manifold, but don't know where to return it. The oil cooler does not have a return hole like my old system did. Where did the R models get and return the heater core water? I think I'm going to have to make a throttle arm for the pump. Can't get the old one off. Can't believe how tight that little 1/4" bolt is. Heat, heat, heat, oil, heat, oil, heat. Ugh, don't want to break it off.
  22. Paul told me "no hurry". Still had it back in two hours.
  23. Well it went pretty easy it got all bolted in and just over 1 hour. Life is good. Today I am hooking stuff up. One hiccup. I cant get the throttle arm off the old motor. Heat and oil won't get that little bolt out. Ugh.
  24. "here's your hat.......don't let the door hit you in the azz on the way out"..............
  25. Better on the eyes? I'm thinking this is better on the eyes... Can we have this as the default theme?
